If you’re a football fan, you’d know that the moment you’ve been waiting for is near. The 2018 edition of FIFA World Cup kicks off in a couple of weeks in Russia. Vivo, which is the official sponsor of this year’s edition of football’s biggest extravaganza, has decided to rake in the moolah by unveiling a special World Cup edition of its soon-to-be-launched flagship, the Vivo X21. Even if you’re not a football fan, the phone has a lot to offer. Let’s check out the full specifications and other details:

Vivo X21 World Cup Edition: What’s different

We had earlier reported that Vivo might be launching a World Cup special edition of the X21 and now it is official. First things first, the official name of this model is Vivo X21 FIFA World Cup 2018 Extraordinaire EditionExtraordinary, Right? Well, it carries that feeling to its design as well. This special edition of Vivo X21 will be available in two colour options – Classic Blue and Victory Red, which are the primary colours in Russia’s national flag. What’s more, these are not just colour options. These are four-dimensional gradient printed adorned with a beautiful pattern on top, complete with a three-dimensional Fifa World Cup 2018 logo at the bottom of the back panel.

Hardware-wise the phone is identical to the standard Vivo X21, however Vivo has made some tweaks in the software to suit the special edition model, starting off with a new FIFA-themed visual effect while unlocking the phone and the company’s own Jovi AI-based smart assistant, which has been tuned to provide World Cup game previews, live links and notification/alarm for the gameplay etc.

The customisations don’t stop here though, with the overall User interface also being tweaked to add a lot of red, blue and gold colors. This UI is meant to be appealing and at the same time, keep it simple enough for the users. To top it off, the phone comes with pre-installed custom World Cup wallpapers and also a custom font – Dusha TM.

Vivo X21 World Cup Edition: Specifications and Features

Like we said, the phone offers exactly the same hardware as the standard edition Vivo X21. Vivo X21’s main USP feature is the under-display fingerprint sensor, which does away with the need for any physical fingerprint sensor and home button on the device, totally. To unlock their devices, the users of Vivo X21 just need to touch the fingerprint prompt on the display screen and it gets unlocked in a jiffy.

Running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 and the Adreno 512 GPU, Vivo X21 World Cup edition will come loaded with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. On the front, it has a 6.28-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display which is an extra tall 19:9 panel with a notch at the top. The phone runs Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box, along with Vivo’s FunTouch OS 4.0 skin on top.

Vivo X21’s primary camera has a dual setup with 12MP and 5MP sensors. There is a 12MP secondary camera at the front for selfies. The camera also has the latest features of 3D mapping, Face Wake facial recognition and IR fill light, which makes it one of the most advanced Facial recognition systems on an Android phone yet.

Powering the device is a 3.200 mAh battery, which also has support for Quick Charge technology.
