Motorola Moto Z3 leaks in Full Glory Ahead of June 6 Launch

Extra-tall 18:9 screen, Fingerprint scanner on the right side, the new pics reveal many details about the phone

Reports about Motorola’s upcoming smartphone, the Moto Z3 have been making rounds on the rumour mill for quite some time now. Last month, the alleged renders of the phone had also surfaced on the internet. Now, Ishan Agarwal has finally blessed us with the official pics of the upcoming flagship from Motorola, and boy, are we excited about the phone.

As you can see, the images now give us a clear look at the phone from all the angles, including sides, bottom, front, and more. One thing that caught our attention was that Motorola seems to have finally moved the fingerprint scanner from the front of the device to the side. In all probability, the fingerprint scanner will now be housed in the power button itself on the right side of the phone. With this shift, Motorola can offer more space to the front panel of the device, which can accommodate a taller display that will also align with the current smartphone trend. Motorola seems to be one of the few manufacturers who still haven’t jumped on the notch bandwagon, and that might appeal to the ones who are not in the favour of the notch design.

There is no word on the specifications of the phone, but going by what we know, the Moto Z3 or the Moto Z3 Play may come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Earlier, we also got our hands on a Geekbench listing, showing a Moto Z3 device running Android 8.1 Oreo and rocking a Snapdragon 660 chipset.

The render also shows that the phone will come dual rear cameras, and what appears to be a substantial camera hump at the back, which is sure to cause some problems when using the phone on a flat surface. On the front of the phone is an extra tall 18:9 AMOLED screen, possibly ~6-inch in size. The back of the phone also has the characteristic pins of the Z-series, which let you use the Moto Mods with your phone.

Motorola Moto Z3: Expected Price and Availability

There is no news about the expected pricing or launch date for the phone yet. It’ll be interesting to see at what price point does Motorola price this, as it’ll face tough competition by both Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro and the OnePlus 5/5T. Stay tuned for all the latest updates about the Moto Z3.
