The Redmi 5 price in India starts at Rs. 7,999 for the 2GB RAM +16GB storage variant, Rs. 8,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant, and Rs. 10,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. On the other hand, the Redmi Y1 price in India starts at Rs. 8,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model and Rs. 10,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version. As for the Nokia 3.1, according to the leaked pricing from its official website, the phone could be priced at Rs. 9,499. The phone has been launched in two variants – 2GB RAM+16GB storage and 3GB RAM+32GB storage.

Going by the pricing of all the three smartphones, the comparison battle is going to be a bit intense as they almost fall in the same price bracket.

The Redmi 5 comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC with Adreno 506 GPU clubbed with 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB storage, depending on the variant. The phone runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat-based MIUI 9 out of the box. It sports a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

Whereas, the Redmi Y1 is powered by a Snapdragon 435 processor with Adreno 505 GPU, 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage. The phone boasts a 13MP rear camera and a 16MP selfie snapper. It was originally launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 but was later updated to Android 7.1 Nougat-based MIUI 8.
