Xiaomi and Samsung continue to trade the top spot in various markets and have multiple manufacturers hot on their heals. Here we take a look at the specs of the top 5 mid-range smartphones currently available on the market.

Redmi Note 5 Pro: Price in India, Specifications

Arguably the most popular mid-range smartphone currently available, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro packs some serious specs for the price. With a 5.99-inch IPS LCD 1080 x 2160 display, the device offers 403 pixels-per-inch and a 77.4% screen-to-body ratio. It weighs in on the heavy side at 181g so you’ll definitely know you’ve got it in your pocket. The device has a Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 Octa-core 1.8 GHz Kryo 260 CPU with an Adreno 509 GPU. There’s also plenty of storage with 64GB of internal space and room for a 256GB microSD expandable card. Closely following the Redmi Note 5 Pro is the Samsung Galaxy J6. Slightly newer than the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Galaxy J6 has a smaller 5.6-inch Super AMOLED 720 x 1480 display with an 18.5:9 ratio offering 294 pixels-per-inch and a 75.9% screen-to-body ratio. It weighs substantially lighter at only 154g and is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7870 Octa-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU with a Mali-T830 MP1 GPU. Again, plenty of storage is available with 64GB of internal storage with 4GB of RAM or a 32GB of storage with 3GB of RAM. The Galaxy J6 has a single 13-megapixel rear shooter at f/1.9 aperture and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The Samsung Galaxy J6 is priced at Rs. 13,990.

Vivo Y83: Price in India, Specifications

Moving onto a device that doesn’t quite have the brand power of the previous two, the Vivo Y83 has a huge 6.22-inch IPS LCD 720 x 1520 display with a 19:9 aspect ratio offering 270 pixels-per-inch and an 82.7% screen-to-body ratio. It weighs on par with the Galaxy J6 at 150g. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6762 Helio P22 Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It weighs a similar amount to the previous two devices at 155g. The RealMe 1 is powered by a Mediatek MT6771 Helio P60 Octa-core (4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. The RealMe 1 comes in a number of different combinations, 128 GB, 6 GB RAM or 64 GB, 4 GB RAM or 32 GB, 3 GB RAM. There’s a single 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with a f/2.2 lens and a front-facing 8-megapixel f/2.2 lens. The RealMe 1 price in India starts at Rs. 8,990 for 3GB RAM+32GB storage and Rs. 13,990 for the 4GB RAM+128GB storage model.

Nokia 6.1: Price in India, Specifications

Finally, the Nokia 6.1 was released in April 2018 and has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD 1080 x 1920 display with a 16:9 aspect ratio offering 403 pixels-per-inch and a 73.2% screen-to-body ratio. It weighs in closer to the Redmi Note 5 Pro at 172g. The Nokia 6.1 is powered by a Qualcomm SDM630 Snapdragon 630 Octa-core 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and an Adreno 508 GPU. The Nokia 6.1 comes in two variants with either 32GB or storage and 3GB of RAM, or 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. It also has the facility, like all the other devices, to be expanded with a microSD card to 256GB. The device has a rear-facing 16-megapixel f/2.0 lens with Carl Zeiss optics as well as an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. As for the pricing, the phone is up for sale at Rs. 18,999.
