We have received confirmation from an inside source regarding the existence of the Xiaomi Mi A2, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro. All these smartphones indeed exist and will be making their debuts in the coming months. We have seen images that lead us to believe that the Mi A2 will indeed be based on the Mi 6X that launched in China in April. It will first be launched in Taiwan alongside the recently announced Mi 8.
On the other hand, an alleged Xiaomi handset had been spotted a while back which houses a large display with a notch at the top. While it is uncertain at this point which exact handset it might be, it is highly likely that it will be either the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro.
Xiaomi Mi A2: Expected Price, Specifications
The Chinese iteration of the upcoming Mi A2 has two storage variants priced accordingly. The 4GB RAM with 64GB storage model has been priced at 1,599 yuan (Rs.16,800 approx.), while the 6GB+128GB model costs 1,799 yuan (Rs.18,900 approx.).
The Mi A2 will come with a 5.99-inch IPS LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. This smartphone has been equipped with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor. For imaging, it features an impressive 12MP + 20MP dual-camera setup at the rear. The 12MP lens uses a Sony IMX486 sensor while the 20MP lens is a Sony IMX376 sensor. There is a 20MP (Sony IMX376) sensor at the front for selfies. The entire package is powered by a 3010mAh capacity battery that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 over a USB Type-C port. There is even an IR blaster on this device.
Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro: Leaked Specifications
There have been quite a few smartphones spotted on TENNA and FCC certification websites that give us a decent idea about the unreleased Xiaomi handsets. One leak showcases a handset with a notched display, while the other has a standard screen without a notch. Neither of the leaks reveals which exact smartphone it is, but we expect them to be either the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A or the Redmi 6 Pro.
The Smartphone without the notch had three model numbers associated with it — M1804C3CT, M1804C3DT and M1804C3DC. It has a 5.45-inch display with HD+ 1440×720 resolution along with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone measures 147.46×71.49×8.3mm and weighs in at 146 grams. It is expected that this smartphone would be powered by an octa-core 2GHz processor which could be the Snapdragon 625. It would contain 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM combined with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The M1804C3CT has been listed with an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP front camera. The other two models come with the dual camera (12MP + 8MP) rear setups along with 5MP from cameras.
The Notched smartphones bear model numbers 1805D1SC, M1805D1SE, and M1805D1ST. The TENAA listing confirms these smartphones to sport a 5.84-inch screen with Full HD+ resolutions and 19:9 aspect ratio. Powering the device is a 2GHz octa-core CPU that could either by a Snapdragon 625 or a Snapdragon 660. The phones measure 149.33×71.68×8.75mm and weigh 178 grams. There will be a dual camera setup at the back which will have at-least one 12Mp sensor. The front would feature a 5MP shooter. There are three storage variants expected to be offered just like the other models. Furthermore, the smartphone would be powered by a large 4000mAh battery.
