Lenovo is all set to launch its latest flagship smartphone, the Lenovo Z5 at an event taking place at the China Film Director Centre in Beijing. In China, the launch event is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM (12 PM IST). There have been numerous leaks that have given us a fair idea of what to expect from this phone. Lenovo seems to be breaking the norm of having a notch at the top of the Z5’s display. It is likely to feature razor-thin bezels at the top and sides, while a tiny chin would be present at the bottom. This would be very similar to how the Xiaomi Mi Mix lineup has been constructed where the sensors and front camera are housed in the bottom chin. We will get more clarity once the launch commences.

Lenovo Z5: Live Streaming

The launch live stream for the Lenovo Z5 is going to begin at 12 PM IST. You can watch the stream for yourself by following this link. It is worth mentioning that the event is in Chinese. So you can follow along in our English live updates.

Lenovo Z5: Expected Price in India

While official pricing of the Lenovo Z5 will be disclosed at the event, there has been a leak recently that points towards the upcoming handset being on of the most expensive Android flagships ever. A listing on JD.com allegedly has the price of the Z5 as 9,999 yuan in China. This roughly translates to Rs.1,05,000 based on current exchange rates. We were expecting this smartphone to be priced somewhere closer to Rs.40,000, but if this listing from JD.com turns out to be legitimate, we could be looking at a smartphone priced around Rs.90,000 if it ever launches in India.

Lenovo Z5: Rumoured Specifications, Features

It is expected that the large, full-screen display of the Lenovo Z5 would take up one of the highest screen-to-body ratios we have ever seen on a smartphone. While the screen resolution has not been confirmed yet, it is likely to be using a Full HD+ resolution panel. The back is said to made of colourful glass, meaning the phone could come with wireless charging capabilities.

The Lenovo Z5 is rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 octa-core chipset, coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. Lenovo Vice President Chang Cheng revealed a few weeks ago that the upcoming flagship would house a whopping 4TB of storage. As for imaging, the smartphone should feature a dual-camera setup at the back with AI-powered portrait mode as well as AI scene recognition. The rest of the details and specifications have not yet been confirmed. However, we will keep you posted with live updates from the launch stream as soon as it commences.
