After launching the Desire 12, and Desire 12 Plus a few months back, HTC has officially announced both the handsets for the Indian market. The phones have been launched in India as promised by the company yesterday. The smartphones are a special attraction in terms of design, as they come with an attractive liquid-surface finish. They offer an 18:9 aspect ratio, and are powered by mediocre processors made by MediaTek and Qualcomm respectively. HTC Desire 12, Desire 12 Plus: Price in India, Sale
Both the Desire 12 and the Desire 12 Plus come in Black, Gold, Purple, and Silver colour options. The 3GB RAM+32GB storage variant of the Desire 12 is priced at Rs.15,800. On the other hand, the Desire 12 Plus has also been launched in 3GB RAM+32GB storage model priced at Rs.19,790. The handsets will be available for pre-orders starting tomorrow i.e. June 7, 2018 exclusively at HTC Estore.
HTC Desire 12: Features
Starting with the Desire 12, it features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution (1440×720 pixels) along with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and 2.5D curved glass covering. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6739 SoC coupled with PowerVR Rogue GE8100 GPU. As mentioned above the Desire 12 ships in a single variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The internal storage on the phone can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, which is quite disappointing as most of the recently launched phones from other OEMs come with Oreo.
Concerning optics, the phone sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, and 1080p video recording support. On the front, the phone is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera (F/2.4 aperture lens) for selfies. Connectivity-wise, the device supports Dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, and it has a 3.5mm audio port. A 2730mAh battery backs the package, but it lacks fast charging support.

The Desire 12 Plus offers similar feature as the Desire 12, except for the processor, software, and display. It comes with a 6-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD+ 1440×720 pixels resolution at 18:9 aspect ratio, and 2.5D curved glass protection. Under the hood, the Desire 12 Plus is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset paired with Adreno 506 GPU. It packs 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card. Thankfully, this one device boots Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with HTC’s Sense UI on top. For imaging, the Desire 12 Plus features a 13MP+2MP dual camera setup at the rear with camera effects like Bokeh mode, Face detection, and Panorama.
On the front, the smartphone sports an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with an LED flash, f/2.0 aperture lens, and camera effects like HDR, Beauty modes. The Desire 12 Plus includes the same connectivity options as the Desire 12 i.e. Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, and a 3.5mm audio port. Beneath, the phone packs a 2965mAh battery.
