We all know that Vivo is set to announce its flagship smartphone, the Vivo NEX, in China on June 12. Along with the Vivo NEX, the company might officially unveil the Vivo NEX S, which is a trimmed down variant of the Vivo NEX. Now, we’re glad to show you the first proper image of the Vivo NEX, along with its confirmed specifications and features.
If you look at the image of the Vivo NEX carefully (which looks pretty slick in red), you will notice that the upcoming smartphone will feature an in-screen fingerprint reader, just like the Vivo X21 UD and the Vivo APEX concept phone. Additionally, the Vivo NEX has a completely bezel-less screen, with its screen-to-body ratio approaching the magical 100% figure. There appears to be a small chin below the screen. Vivo NEX: Specifications, Features
Going by its specifications list, we can confirm that the Vivo NEX S will sport a 6.59-inch display with FHD+ resolution (2316×1080 pixels). The phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor (2× Cortex-A75 @ 2.2GHz + 6× Cortex-A55 @ 1.7GHz). The chipset will be paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage in this variant of the Vivo NEX.
There will be an 8GB RAM variant of the Vivo NEX smartphone, and the highlight of this it will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processing chipset. The smartphone also might have support for external microSD card support. On the software front, the handset will run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, customised by company’s Funtouch OS skin on top. The phone has a glass-and-metal build.
As far as the imaging aspect of the smartphone go, it will feature a dual-camera setup at the rear. The imaging sensors are placed in a vertical fashion, and it consists of a 12-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel secondary sensor, and a dual-tone LED flash. This dual-camera setup offers phase-detection autofocus, bokeh mode, panorama, HDR, and other features. At the front, the device has a 5-megapixel camera for capturing selfies and making video calling. You might think that there doesn’t seem to be a camera at the front. Well, fret not, the front-facing camera will pop up from the top of the phone, just like it does on the Vivo APEX.
Connectivity-wise the NEX features dual-SIM card slot, 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, microUSB 2.0 port, GPS, and OTG support. The NEX will measure 162×77×7.98mm and come packed with a 4000mAh battery.
Vivo NEX, NEX S: Expected Price, Launch Date, Availability
If we’re to beleive previous reports, the Vivo NEX might retail for CNY 6,998 (approx. Rs. 73,515), whereas the NEX S with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC might cost CNY 4,998 (approx. Rs. 52,505).
