Ever since the Redmi Y2 was rumoured to launch, it was expected to arrive as a mid-ranged offering from Xiaomi which would be priced somewhere in between the Redmi 5 and the Redmi Note 5. The base variant of the Redmi 5 is priced at Rs. 8,999 while the base model of the Redmi Note 5 is priced at Rs.9,999. However, there was a price leak recently of the upcoming, selfie-centric handset which leads us to believe its price would star from Rs.9,999 as well. If this is true, then this price would be for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model, while a 4GB RAM with 64 GB storage variant would be priced at Rs.11,999. This is still unconfirmed, and we can expect to get official pricing for the smartphone once the event begins.
