Honor 10: New Brings Party Mode and Enhanced AI Camera; GPU Turbo Support Arriving Soon
The latest software update for the Honor 10 brings a new Party Mode feature, which lets users to connect their Honor 10 with other smartphones using NFC to have them all play the same music simultaneously. Honor is reportedly rolling out the same feature to Honor View 10 units as well. In addition to the new Party Mode feature, the new software update adds some improvements to the AI camera as well. Once updated, Honor 10 users will see a text message in the camera app that will tell them about the photo effect chosen by the AI camera once it detects the scene. The fingerprint sensor has been enhanced as well. It can now inform users to replace their saved fingerprint with a new one in case it isn’t very compatible with their current fingerprint. Some of the other highlights of the new update include live wallpapers, a new theme, lower power consumption, and the May 2018 security patch from Google. Honor has also moved the HiCare app to the home screen from the Tools folder.
In the near future, Honor 10, Honor View 10, Honor 9 Lite, Honor 7X users can expect to receive another software update that will add GPU Turbo technology to the smartphone. Honor’s GPU Turbo Technology is claimed to enhance gaming performance by up to 60% while reducing power consumption by 30%. The same GPU Turbo feature will also support AR and VR gaming in the future.

The Honor 10 comes with a 5.84-inch FullView IPS display with a notch on the top, 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by HiSilicon’s Kirin 970 octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.4 GHz with a Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. In terms of memory, the variant sold in India includes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. At the rear is a 16MP + 24MP dual-camera setup with a wide f/1.8 aperture and 4K video recording. The AI dual-camera setup is also capable of real-time recognition of 500+ scenarios in 22 categories with multiple subject recognition. On the front of the smartphone is an impressive 24MP selfie camera with 4-in-1 Light Fusion technology and AI-powered Bokeh Effect.
