Amazon has slashed the prices of its Echo and Echo Dot smart speakers in the Indian market. The Amazon Echo Plus, however, hasn’t received any price cut yet. Similarly, the price of the Echo Spot also remains the same as earlier.

Amazon Echo, Echo Dot: Price in India Dropped by Up to Rs.1,000

The Amazon Echo Dot, which carries an MRP of Rs.4,499, is now available at Rs.4,099, a discount of Rs.400. Similarly, the bigger Amazon Echo has received a Rs.1,000 discount and is now available on for Rs.8,999. If you purchase two units of the Echo Echo Dot speaker, you will be able to avail a further discount of Rs.700. On the bigger Echo, Amazon is offering a further discount of Rs.1,000 when customers purchase two units.

The Amazon Echo Dot is a smart speaker that features a 7-microphone array with far-field voice recognition to allow it to hear users from across the room. The Alexa-powered smart speaker is capable of playing music, updating you with the latest news and weather reports, sports scores, alarms, reminders, calls, messages, and even control your Smart Home devices. You can also ask Alexa to order food from Zomato or request a ride from Ola. It comes with a 0.6” tweeter and measures 32 x 84 x 84mm in terms of physical size.

The bigger Amazon Echo comes with a 2.5” woofer in addition to a 0.6” tweeter unit. Since it delivers significantly more powerful sound, the Echo is also a lot bigger in size. It measures 148 x 88 x 88mm and weighs in at 821 grams. It comes with seven microphones with beam-forming technology and noise cancellation to allow it to hear users from any direction even when they have music playing. Amazon is regularly adding new skills to Alexa, so you can expect the Echo to be capable of doing a lot more in the future.
