Vivo will unveil its high-end smartphones—Vivo NEX, Vivo NEX A, and Vivo NEX S—today in China. The company has been teasing the smartphones since the past few weeks, but we brought you the exclusive first look at the Vivo NEX smartphone as well as its hardware and software specifications much ahead of the official launch.
All three Vivo NEX smartphones will have bezel-less screens and a periscope-style pop-up front-facing camera, much like the front-facing camera on the Vivo APEX smartphone. The Vivo NEX is a high-end smartphone with Snapdragon 845 processor, while the Vivo NEX S is expected to feature the recently announced Snapdragon 710 processing chipset. A hands-on video of the Vivo NEX was leaked yesterday. The Vivo NEX A is expected to be a China-only variant of the NEX S, but we’re not too sure about the information.

Vivo NEX, NEX S, NEX A: What We Know So Far
The Vivo NEX could be priced at a whopping CNY 4,498 (approximately, Rs. 45,500), and is expected to feature a 6.59-inch screen with a truly bezel-less design and Full HD+ resolution. The phone also features an in-screen fingerprint reader, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage. The phone will have a microSD card slot as well for storage expansion. There is expected to be a 4000mAh battery inside it and a 12MP+5MP dual-camera setup at the rear with 4K video recording. Since there’s no bezel, the front-facing camera is neatly kept hidden away in a periscope-style pop-up area. It will run Android 8.1 Oreo based Funtouch OS software. The highest-end variant of the Vivo NEX could be priced as high as CNY 9,999 in China.
The Vivo NEX S, which could be priced at CNY 3,798), is expected to feature a 6.59-inch screen with a bezel-less design and Full HD+ resolution, similar to the Vivo NEX. The difference between the two arises from the processing chipset that’s used inside the Vivo NEX S. The NEX S is expected to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset. It could come with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. There will be microSD card slot for storage expansion. It uses the same 12MP+5MP dual-camera setup at the rear and a pop-up camera at the top of the phone for selfies and video calling. The NEX A is being rumoured to be a China-only variant of the Vivo NEX S. Currently, there’s no information about the battery capacity of the NEX S or the NEX A.
