After launching the Meizu 15 series smartphones in April, Meizu is now aiming to launch their successors very soon. Yes, you read that right. Meizu’s founder Jack Wong has confirmed in a forum post that the Meizu 16 will debut in August 2018. Additionally, he also assured that the smartphone will be powered by the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 845 mobile platform. He did not reveal the launch date, though.
As per the speculations, along with the Meizu 16, there’s an even better smartphone that exists: Meizu 16 Pro. It’s a higher-end variant of the Meizu 16, and succeeds the Meizu 15 Plus. Let us have a look at rumoured specifications of these devices and see what they can offer.
Meizu 16, Meizu 16 Pro: Rumoured Features
Going by the details revealed by tipsters from China, the Meizu 16 will feature a 5.6-inch screen, whereas the Pro model will sport a larger screen: 6.1 inches. Both these models will be 7.2mm thin, and they will come with a flat screen instead of a curved one. As mentioned above, the Meizu 16 and the Meizu 16 Pro will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. The base model will reportedly get 6GB of RAM 64GB or 128GB internal storage, depending on the variant. The Meizu 16 Pro might feature 6GB or 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. These devices could be launched with Android 8.1 Oreo and Meizu’s customised Flyme OS user interface.
It is being expected that these smartphones will ship with a dual 12-megapixel cameras, whereas the front facing camera might have 20MP resolution for high-res selfies and video calls. The phones are supposed to come with in-display fingerprint readers. The Meizu 16 is said to pack a 3080mAh battery capacity, and it could have 24W (8V 3A) fast charging support. On the other hand, the Meizu 16 Pro might be use a 3600mAh battery capacity that is supposed to have 32W (8V 4A) fast charging support. On top of that, the Pro model even can have a 10W wireless charging capability.

As far as the pricing of the Meizu 16 is concerned, the 6GB RAM variant with 64GB of internal storage might cost around CNY 2,999 (approximately, Rs. 31,766), whereas the 6GB RAM variant with 128GB storage might retail for CNY 3,299 (approximately, Rs. 34,946). If the pricing of the Meizu 16 Pro is to be believed, it is said to start around at CNY 3,699 (approximately, Rs. 39,168) for the 6GB RAM +128GB storage. The highest-end model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage might retail for CNY 3,999 (Rs. 42,345).
