Samsung seems to be on schedule with its next Galaxy phone, but it is going to be an addition to its already existing S9 lineup. A new listing has surfaced on Chinese certification site, TENAA. This is not the first time when we have learned about the existence of another S9-series phone, last month another listing was spotted with the model number SM-G8850 and design laced with dual-camera placement just like the iPhone X. The latest TENAA listing with the S9 phone seems to be about the Galaxy S9 Plus Lite, which could be an affordable variant of the Galaxy S9 Plus. Let’s take a look at the features in the TENAA listing.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Lite: What TENAA Listing Reveals
As we mentioned above, the phone adds to another Galaxy S9 phone that surfaced on TENAA. The new Samsung phone packs a large screen with high-resolution cameras on both the sides. It compromises on the power though and settles for lower CPU clock speed.
The latest phone listing on TENAA reveals that the screen is larger than the phone that was listed last month. The new listing features a smartphone with model number SM-G8855 with dual camera setup at the rear with 24MP and 16MP primary and secondary lenses. The placement of the camera is vertical, as seen on Apple’s flagship, the iPhone X. On the front, the phone seems to pack an 8MP front camera, which makes it a lighter version of the Galaxy S9 Plus that has a superior front camera at 24MP.
It must be noted that lower megapixels do not necessarily mean lower power in the camera, so there are fair chances that Samsung could have optimised the front camera on the phone that is allegedly being called as Galaxy S9 Plus Lite. Besides, the listing also reveals that the phone will come powered by an octa-core processor clocked at either 2.2Ghz or 1.8Ghz with 64GB storage, and 4GB of RAM. The clock speed of the SoC hints that it could be an Exynos 9810-powered mid-range smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Lite: Other Features
Other features revealed in the TENAA listing includes a 6.28-inch AMOLED screen with 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution (lower than the 2960 x 1440 pixels resolution on the Galaxy S9 Plus). It could have a 3700mAh battery, which is larger than the Galaxy S9 Plus. The listing also mentions a headphone jack and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor that is placed separately on the rear panel and at a reasonable distance from the dual camera lenses so that user does not accidentally put the finger on the lens.
Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Lite: China Specific?
As of now, there is no information about the availability and pricing of the device. There are fair chances that Samsung could launch the alleged Galaxy S9 Plus Lite in China and keep it limited to the region. The company had earlier launched China-specific variants of its flagships. In May 2018, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S Light Luxury smartphone in China, which is a lighter variant of the Galaxy S8. It will be interesting to see if Samsung launches the Galaxy S9 Lite variant globally.
