For those who might be unaware, the iconic event is being held in Russia this year and consists of 32 teams from around the world competing in almost 50 matches over the course of one month. The event began June 14 and will end on July 15. Indian fans who are on Airtel and Jio mobile networks can easily watch the matches on their smartphones. On the other hand, watching the games on Sony Liv is always an option for everyone.

Bharti Airtel will be providing free coverage of the matches this season directly via its Airtel TV app on both Android and iOS devices. The app itself received a fresh update recently that brought along the streaming service with it along with a host of new features. Airtel is even providing multilingual commentary of the broadcast in English, Hindi and various other local languages. Fans will also be able to enjoy other bonuses such as the ability to see match schedules and other updates related to the world cup. Furthermore, Airtel has announced that its Airtel TV service shall be free for all customers until December 31, 2018, due to the immense success of the app.

For all 186 million Reliance Jio SIM card users, watching the FIFA World Cup 2018 on the Jio TV app is just as easy. Jio is providing the entire premium sports content free of cost for its users. Furthermore, the telco hasn’t forgotten cricket fans and is offering live coverage of the ongoing Test match between India and Afghanistan on the app as well.

Reliance is even offering various discounts on its recharge plans in celebration of this football season. Jio announced a Double Dhamaka offer where it would be increasing the data benefit on many of its prepaid tariff plans with an additional 1.5GB daily data limit. For example, Rs. 149, Rs. 349, Rs. 399, or Rs. 449 recharge plans now provide a total of 3GB data instead of the previous limit of just 1.5GB. This goes as high as the Rs 799 plan where customers can now get 6.5 daily data instead of the previous 5GB data cap. The company is also offering a discount of Rs.100 on all recharges of Rs 300 or more, and there are 20% discounts on various recharge plans that are under Rs. 300. These discount, however, require users to recharge through the MyJio app using PhonePe.

While Jio and Airtel are only offering live broadcasts to their own customers, Sony is offering the same to everyone. The Sony ESPN network is the official broadcasting partner for FIFA 2018.
