Oppo’s Find X was expected to come out in all its glory at the launch event, but things didn’t quite turn out as planned as almost all the specs along with the pricing leaked ahead of the launch. A hands-on video managed to make its way to the internet before the official unveiling of the smartphone. Oppo Find X: Leaked Specs, Features, Pricing

The highlight of the Find X is its pop-up camera design, which is Oppo’s effort for providing better screen real estate. Oppo has integrated a pop-up design that rests in the top panel of the phone and comes out when the rear or front cameras are to be used. The pop-up panel houses both front and rear cameras in a motorised unit that is claimed to take only 0.5 seconds to open.

This time around, Oppo ditched the notch and offered a 6.4-inch screen with 92.25 percent screen to body ratio. The design to appeal to the smartphone enthusiasts who love more screen space and don’t like any element taking up the screen space on the front panel. The motorised pop-up unit has a 25MP selfie camera and 16MP+20MP dual camera setup for the rear camera. It is assembled in the phone’s chassis, which triggers when the user opens the camera app. It closes when the user closes the camera app.

Other specifications as leaked by The Verge, the front camera on the Oppo Find X features 3D facial scanning that assists in facial unlocking. Oppo has devised a vivid method to make it work with the pop-up camera design, when the user powers on the phone by swiping up on the screen, the camera unit automatically motors up and maps the user’s face to authenticate it and unlock the phone. The Verge also claims that the entire setup works quite swiftly without any hindrance.

Oppo Find X uses a 6.4-inch curved OLED display panel with a full-HD+ resolution. The rear panel of the phone also uses a curved glass. Oppo has ditched the fingerprint sensor for the biometric face unlock technology. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor like the high-end Vivo NEX S smartphone. There is an 8GB of RAM and a 256GB storage. A 3730mAh battery backs the device with support for Oppo’s VOOC fast wired charging technology. On the software side of things, the phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS.

According to an image posted on Chinese social network, Weibo, the Oppo Find X could rock a price tag of CNY 4,500, which roughly converts to Rs. 48,000. However, this information is unofficial so we suggest our readers to take it with a pinch of salt.
