Xiaomi shook the television space when it unveiled the Mi TV 4 in India back in February of this year. The TV not only offered users a 4K resolution TV at an affordable price, but it also brought forth a great user experience with its PatchWall UI. However, the UI wasn’t perfect and there were some aspects that left more to be desired. One such need was the ability to delete watch history from the various on-demand streaming services. The other was the redundant character limit in the UI’s Universal Search feature.

PatchWall UI version 1.0.19: What’s New!

Xiaomi has started to roll out a new update that fixes these two grievances users have had with PatchWall UI on both the Mi TV 4 and Mi TV 4A. Xiaomi India product manager, Sudeep Sahu recently posted a status on Facebook detailing the latest release noted for PatchWall UI build 1.0.19. He addresses the issue where people might want to have their watch history erased for privacy concerns. The feature has now been implemented and also comes with a decent amount of flexibility where users can either delete individual watch histories or erase everything altogether.

The next main feature implemented was based on a twitter conversation Sahu had with a customer who was complaining of the counterintuitive 13 character limitation imposed on the Universal Search feature of PatchWall UI. This is especially an issue for Indian shows and movies where the names easily exceed this limit. Xiaomi haw fixed this problem by having the character limit in the search removed entirely.
