
Purchasing a flagship costs a significant amount of money, and it often pushes us over our budget. Many consumers go for the EMI option when buying a premium smartphone, but that only gets them the device without any additional offer. Airtel India wants to change the process by offering smartphones at quite an affordable downpayment and monthly EMIs bundled with voice calling and data benefits. In its latest move, Airtel has listed Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones on its online store.
Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL: Sale at Airtel Online Store
Airtel is offering Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones at a starting EMI of Rs. 2,799. The buyers will first have to spare a downpayment of Rs. 10,599 for buying the 64GB storage variant of the phone and Rs. 12,599 for the 128GB storage version. After paying the down payment, they will have to pay Rs. 2,799 as EMI for each month until the realisation of the total price of the phone. On the other hand, the Pixel 2 XL requires a down payment of Rs. 15,599 for the 64GB storage model and Rs. 22,599 for the 128GB storage variant. Currently, Airtel is the only telco in India that is offering deals on the purchase of smartphones.
Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL: Offers on Airtel Store
Unlike the other smartphone purchases on EMIs, buying the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL via Airtel has its own set of benefits. The telco has bundled free voice-calling and data plan with the EMIs. Both the smartphones come with 50GB 4G data per month with a roll-over option for the current’s month remaining to the next month. It also bundles unlimited local and national calls. Moreover, the offer also includes free Amazon Prime subscription worth Rs 999. Not just Pixel 2 devices, Airtel’s online store also features other flagships such as Samsung Galaxy S9 and Nokia 7 Plus.
Under the EMI offer by Airtel, Google Pixel 2 XL 64GB variant costs around Rs. 66,000, which also includes the interest costs and the value of free data/voice benefits. The market price of the Pixel 2 XL is Rs. 51,448.

Google Pixel 2 features a 5-inch full-HD OLED display with 1080×1920 pixels,16:9 aspect ratio while the Pixel 2 XL has a 6-inch near edge-to-edge display coupled with QHD+ resolution at 1440×2880 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. Both the smartphones boast Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM. On the software side, both the devices run Android 8.1 Oreo and will soon be upgraded to Android P.
For optics, both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL offer 12.2MP rear cameras with f/1.8 aperture with OIS and EIS. On the front, thet settle for an 8MP camera with f/2.4 aperture. According to Google, DxOMark awarded camera on Pixel 2 a score of 98. The Pixel 2 is backed by a 2700mAh battery, while the Pixel 2 XL houses a bigger 3520mAh battery. Both the phones support fast charging, which is claimed to offer 7 hours of backup in 15 minutes of charge.
Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL support connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac with 2×2 MIMO, NFC, an eSIM module, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C (3.1), and GPS/ A-GPS. It must be noted that both the phones do not have 3.5mm headphone jack, but they do ship with a 3.5mm to USB Type-C adaptor. There is a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel of both the devices.
