Garmin today launched the Forerunner 645 Music GPS smartwatch in India, which was announced back in January this year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 in Las Vegas. The Forerunner 645 Music is the company’s first smartwatch to support on-device music storage.

Garmin has priced the Forerunner 645 Music smartwatch at Rs.39,990 in India. Surprisingly, the smartwatch’s price in India is higher than its launch price in the US – $449.99 (Rs.30,500 approx.). It is now in stock on Garmin’s e-store as well as Paytm Mall. While there are no cashback offers available on Paytm Mall currently, you can opt for the No Cost EMI option.

As you may have figured from its name, the Garmin Forerunner 645 Music smartwatch comes with onboard storage that can store up to 500 songs. This means even if you don’t carry your smartphone along, you can still enjoy music while you are working out or just out jogging. It even supports syncing playlists from select music streaming service for ad-free listening.
The Forerunner 645 Music GPS smartwatch uses a transflective memory-in-pixel (MIP) Garmin Chroma Always-on display measuring 1.2-inches with 240 x 240 pixel resolution. It comes with a Garmin Elevate wrist heart rate monitor, barometric sensor, altimeter, compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, and a thermometer. The smartwatch can track calories burned, floors climbed, distance traveled, fitness age, stress, as well as sleep. There are built-in activity profiles for running, cycling, swimming, elliptical, paddle sports, strength training, and more. Additionally, the Forerunner 645 Music GPS smartwatch can provide advanced running dynamics such as ground contact time balance, stride length, vertical ratio, and more. When it comes to battery, Garmin claims the smartwatch provides up to 7 days of stamina in smartwatch mode and 5 hours in GPS mode with music.
The smartwatch can be customized as per your liking by downloading apps, widgets, watch faces and more from the Connect IQ store. Some of the apps currently available on the Connect IQ store include Uber, SmartThings, AccuWeather MinuteCast, and more. Once paired with your smartphone, the Forerunner 645 Music will allow you to receive and respond to text messages, view social media updates, emails, and more.
