As we told you yesterday, Xiaomi has started rolling out the MIUI 10 China Developer ROM for compatible devices. The update was rolled out to the Redmi Note 5 as well, which is sold as the Redmi Note 5 Pro in the Indian market. According to users on XDA Developers forum, the MIUI 10 China 8.6.19 Public Beta update adds one new feature to the smartphone. While the Redmi Note 5 Pro can currently recording Full HD videos at 30fps, the MIUI 10 Beta update adds the ability to capture Full HD videos at up to 60fps. As you can see in the screenshot above, users can choose from four video quality options – Full HD 1080p at 60fps, Full HD 1080p at 30fps, HD 720p at 30fps, and SD 480p at 30fps. However, it should be noted that the feature isn’t available on the MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM. We will need to wait to see if Xiaomi adds the feature to the Redmi Note 5 Pro model sold in India in future beta MIUI 10 releases.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro now starts at Rs.14,999 for the base variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It comes in four color options – Black, Blue, Gold, and Rose Gold.

Redmi Note 5 Pro: Specifications, Features
The Redmi Note 5 Pro boasts a premium metal build and comes with a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display offering 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi uses a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass to protect the display, although it hasn’t specified the version that is used. Under the hood, it runs on a powerful Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz with custom Kryo 260 cores and an Adreno 509 GPU. As we discussed above already, the smartphone comes in two memory configurations in India – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. For further expansion, the Redmi Note 5 Pro only includes a Hybrid Dual-SIM slot instead of a dedicated microSD card slot.
In the camera department, Redmi Note 5 Pro impresses with a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup with phase detection autofocus and a dual-LED flash. For selfies, the smartphone includes an impressive 20MP snapper with an f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash. The front-facing camera supports Face Unlock as well, making it easy for users to unlock the handset quickly. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well for users looking for greater security. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, 4G VoLTE, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and an IR blaster. Fueling the internals of the budget smartphone is a 4000mAh capacity battery with fast charging support. On the software front, the Redmi Note 5 Pro currently runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.5.
