Huawei unveiled the rebranded P20 Lite as the Huawei Nova 3e in the Chinese market back in March 2018. Now, it looks like the company is prepping to bring the upgraded version of the Nova 3e soon. Recently, Huawei released the teaser on its Weibo handle that possibly points towards the launch of the Huawei Nova 3. In addition to the teaser, the company has also revealed the design of the handset itself in a poster that shows its rear side. Huawei mentions that it has tied up with TFBoys, a Chinese boy band, to present this upcoming handset. It also claims that it is going to “start a new journey with Millennium and join hands in creating a beautiful era of nova planet”, intimating us that the new phone is going to bring some creative aesthetics along with near flagship level specifications.

Two unannounced Huawei smartphones, PAR-AL00/TL00 had gained the TENAA and 3C approval in China a few weeks back. These handsets are believed to be variant of the Huawei Nova 3, which is supposed to be codenamed ‘Paris’. If we look at the rear side of the device, we can see that the handset will be coming with a dual camera setup and a circular rear-facing fingerprint sensor. The appearance of this upcoming smartphone does resemble that of the Huawei P20 Lite, which also has the dual rear camera sensors arranged in a vertical fashion. The handset is supposed to feature a taller 19:9 aspect ratio display and it might run Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. Some rumours even claim that Huawei is trying to implement an in-display fingerprint sensor on this upcoming handset. If the rumors are accurate, Nova 3e could be Huawei’s first mid-range handset to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Furthermore, the Nova 3 is expected to use an octa-core Kirin 710 SoC, the one that Huawei’s in-house department is making to compete against the likes of the Snapdragon 710 chipset. The Kirin 710 is said to be the successor to the Kirin 659, which Huawei has been making use of it in its recent smartphones. The upcoming Kirin 710 is supposed to be built using a 12nm process by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).

As far as the launch of the Nova 3 goes, sources suggest it might be launched in July. Keeping in mind that Huawei has now started teasing the device, we can expect the Chinese smartphone maker to send out the invites soon for the official unelving of the phone in China very soon.
