Xiaomi seems to have run out of patience to wait for the launch of its Mi Pad 4 tablet and Redmi 6 smartphone. The company was expected to bring out the new devices at a launch event in China, but it surprisingly listed them both on its official website revealing all the essential information about them. Well, we are pretty happy that Xiaomi did that as it marginally reduced the waiting time for us to get the glimpse of the devices alongside essential details such as specs and pricing. We wonder if Xiaomi will still be hosting a launch event, as many of us expected and even if it does then not many will be glued to it as the important information concerning the devices is already out.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 4: Specifications, Features
As we already reported, Xiaomi listed its Mi Pad 4 on the official website a day ahead of the launch. The product page went live a day before the company was expected to hold a launch event for the product. Xiaomi Mi Pad 4’s landing page listed all the information about the device including the pricing for different variants. The two-tone rear panel design of the Mi Pad 4 resembles the iPad 2018.
The Mi Pad 4 comes with an 8-inch Full HD display at 1920×1200 pixels resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. It has a pixel density of 283ppi, which is lower than the 326ppi pixel density on its predecessor, the Mi Pad 3. The display on the tablet supports eye mode, standard mode, enhanced mode, intelligent adaptation mode, and more.
A 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 660 chipset powers the tablet with Adreno 512 GPU. It features 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB storage, depending on the variant. It ships in LTE and Wi-Fi-only variants and runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10 out-of-the-box. For optics, the Mi Pad 4 features a 13MP rear camera with full HD 1080p 30fps video recording capability and HDR. On the front, the device sports a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, HDR and AI-assisted Face Recognition. A 6000mAh battery completes the package, which is touted by the company to deliver more than 16 hours of backup.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 4: Smaller Than Mi Pad 3
According to the product listing on Xiaomi’s official website in China, the WiFi variant of the Mi Pad 4 supports 2×2 MIMO high speed wireless network. The listing also states that the Mi Pad 4 is 9.4% smaller body in comparison to the Mi Pad 3 and measures 200.2 x 120.3 x 7.9mm. Xiaomi claims that the smaller body makes the Mi Pad 4 easy to operate with a single hand.
Additional features on the Mi Pad 4 includes Split screen mode, which allows users to split screen to multitask. This feature enables the user to split the screen for doing two tasks such as chatting and watching video simultaneously.
