Redmi Note 5 Pro Will Get Android Oreo Based MIUI 9.5 Update in India Starting June 29

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro users will soon receive a notification to update their devices. The latest MIUI version 9.5, based on Android Oreo 8.1, will start rolling out starting this Friday, June 29. Redmi Note 5 Pro, launched earlier this year, could be the first smartphone from Xiaomi to get Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.5.6. Xiaomi launched the handset with MIUI version 9.  This version is based on Android Nougat. The last update that Xiaomi pushed to Redmi Note 5 Pro was MIUI 9.2.7. Those who opted to install the same will be the first ones to be greeted with a notification to install the latest update to the MIUI 9.5 Global ROM, starting June 29.

Officially referred to as version 9.5.6.0.OEIMIFA, the MIUI 9.5 Global ROM underwent several stages of beta testing. Xiaomi reportedly released the ROM to early adopters. However, the company soon pulled it back, presumably to iron out some issues that some users reportedly experienced. The company appears to have compiled a stable Global ROM. Interestingly, Xiaomi pushed the update to a few random Redmi Note Pro users. The public release of the Android O-based MIUI 9.5 will be through OTA (Over The Air) notification.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a Full-HD 5.99-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. As with the majority of the Xiaomi’s phones, the display is quite vivid.
