These are the five of the latest and greatest Android flagships that run on Qualcomm's 10nm octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset.

The Snapdragon 845 is Qualcomm’s latest mobile SoC designed for flagship smartphones. Some leading Android OEMs unveiled the first Snapdragon 845-powered smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February this year. Since then, we have seen a number of new flagship smartphones powered by the chipset go official. Here are five of the most impressive Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-powered flagship smartphones that have gone official recently.

ASUS ZenFone 5Z: Specifications, Features

Announced at the Mobile World Congress 2018 earlier this year, the ZenFone 5Z features a 6.2-inch IPS display with an iPhone X-style notch, 1080 x 2246 Full HD+ resolution, 95% DCI-P3 color space coverage, and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. ASUS offers the ZenFone 5Z in multiple memory configurations. The base variant comes with 6GB of RAM 64GB of onboard storage, while the top-end variant includes 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. At the rear is a 12MP + 8MP dual-camera setup with PDAF and EIS. For selfies, the smartphone has an 8MP snapper on the front. Fueling the internals of the ZenFone 5Z is a 3300mAh capacity battery with 18W fast charging support. It also comes with NFC, a USB Type-C port, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and DTS Headphone X. The smartphone runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box with ZenUI 5.0 on top. It is expected to go on sale in India very soon as a Flipkart-exclusive.


OnePlus 6: Specifications, Features

OnePlus’ latest flagship smartphone also sports a notch at the top. Its 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED panel offers 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution with DCI-P3 color space coverage and a 19:9 aspect ratio. Launched in India in May, the OnePlus 6 comes in two variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. The smartphone boasts a 16MP + 20MP dual-camera setup on the back with both the sensors paired with large f/1.7 aperture. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone comes with a 16MP selfie snapper on the front with facial recognition for easy unlocking. The OnePlus 6 packs a 3300mAh capacity battery with the manufacturer’s Dash Charge 20W fast charging technology. Some other key features of the flagship smartphone include a USB Type-C port, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, Dirac HD sound, and water resistance. In terms of software, the OnePlus 6 currently runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo OS with the Oxygen OS overlay on top.

OPPO Find X: Specifications, Features

Announced by OPPO at an event in Paris last week, the OPPO Find X is one of the most unique flagship smartphones released so far. Thanks to a motorized sliding mechanism, OPPO has managed to achieve an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 93.8% without any notch. The Find X has a 6.42-inch sized AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. In terms of memory, the smartphone include a whopping 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. In the camera department, the OPPO Find X features a 16MP + 2MP setup at the rear and an impressive 25MP selfie camera on the front. The smartphone also boasts 3D Face Unlock support, dubbed O-Face recognition. Some of the other key highlights of the OPPO Find X flagship smartphone include a 3730mAh capacity battery with VOOC flash charge fast charging, USB Type-C port, and a DSP module with NXP noise reduction. OPPO Find X runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.1 out of the box. The OPPO Find X is set to be launched in India on July 12.

Vivo NEX S: Specifications, Features

Vivo’s NEX S flagship smartphone also boasts an impressive 91.24% screen-to-body ratio without having a notch at the top. This is achieved by hiding the earpiece and the ambient light sensor behind the display and a pop-up selfie camera. The smartphone features a huge 6.59-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 2316 Full HD+ resolution, DCI-P3 coverage, and a 19.3:9 aspect ratio. Equipped with a whopping 8GB of RAM, the NEX S is available in 128GB and 256GB storage variants. In terms of optics, the Vivo NEX S boasts a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup on the back with the primary sensor equipped with 4-axis OIS. The pop-up selfie camera on the NEX S is an 8MP unit with an f/2.0 aperture. For biometric authentication, the NEX S uses a third-generation in-display fingerprint scanner. Other key features of the Vivo flagship include a 4000mAh battery with 22W fast charging, USB Type-C port, CS43199 + SSM6322 Amplifier, and a dedicated button for the Jovi AI assistant. In terms of software, the NEX S runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.0. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, the NEX S is expected to be launched in India next month.

Mi 8: Specifications, Features

Xiaomi announced the Mi 8 at its 8th Anniversary event held in China last month. The flagship smartphone sports a 6.21-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2248 Full HD+ resolution, DCI-P3 gamut coverage, 600 nits peak brightness, and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. In the memory department, Xiaomi Mi 8 comes with 6GB of RAM and three storage options – 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. At the rear is a 12MP + 12MP dual-camera setup with 2x zoom and 4-axis optical image stabilization. The front-facing 20MP sensor supports IR Face Unlock as well. If you don’t wish to use the IR Face Unlock feature, you can also use the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor to unlock the smartphone. Keeping the lights on is a 3400mAh capacity battery with Quick Charge 4+ fast charging support. Some of the other key features of the Xiaomi flagship include Dual 4G VoLTE and a USB Type-C port. The Mi 8 runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.5 currently.
