Xiaomi Teases Next Global Event; Mi A2 Launch Likely

Xiaomi's next Android One smartphone, the Mi A2 could finally make its debut at the company's next global launch event.

In late April this year, Xiaomi launched the Mi 6X smartphone in China, succeeding the Mi 5X from last year. Since the Mi 5X made its global debut as Xiaomi’s first Android One smartphone, the Mi A1, the Mi 6X global variant is expected to succeed the Mi A1 in India and a few other markets outside China. The Mi A2 was listed online by a Swiss retailer recently and Xiaomi has now started teasing its next global launch event on Twitter, hinting at an impending launch.

Mi A2: Launch Likely at Xiaomi’s Next Global Event

Xiaomi is asking its fans on Twitter where they would like to go with Mi for a global event. The options given to the fans include Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Mars. Since the company has started teasing its next global event already, we can expect a confirmed date and venue to be shared by Xiaomi very soon. The Swiss retailer listing had suggested the Mi A2 will begin shipping in Europe on August 8, so the global launch event could take place sometime next month.
