Specifications of Samsung’s first Android Go smartphone surface online

A couple of recent reports have suggested that Samsung is working on its first-ever Android Go smartphone. The handset, bearing model number SM-J260G, was benchmarked a few days ago using Geekbench. The benchmark tool’s public database had revealed some of the phone’s key specifications.

That’s not all, along with the benchmark listing, we also saw a report from SamMobile, which claimed that Samsung is testing this smartphone in multiple markets around the world. Now, we are being greeted with some specifications of the Samsung SM-J260F, including its display size, front and rear-facing camera resolution, processor, memory, storage, operating system version, and battery capacity.

Samsung Galaxy J260F: Specifications

Before we move onto the detailed specifications list sheet, we would like to mention that this is the first ever Android Go smartphone from Samsung, and it will carry these model numbers depending on the market: SM-J260G, SM-J260F, and SM-J260M. The smartphone is expected to sport a 5-inch Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, it is supposed to be equipped with a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 chipset, 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. On the software front, it is said to boot Android 8.1 Oreo (Android Go Edition). The handset might come with an 8MP rear-facing camera, 5MP selfie shooter, and it might have a 2600mAh battery.


Samsung Galaxy SM-J260F: Launch Date, Countries

Going by the previously revealed information related to the availability of the Samsung SM-J260F, it is being tested in the UK, Uzbekistan, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, France and Poland. Samsung is said to be testing the SM-J260G in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago, Peru, Panada and Paraguay. The same model will also make its appearance in some of the Asian countries: Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam.

As far as the launch of this device is considered, it is being reported that Samsung will debut the smartphone sometime in late summer. Additionally, there are good chances of the South Korean smartphone maker releasing this device before the launch of its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 9. It has been confirmed that the Galaxy Note 9 will make its debut on August 9, 2018.

That being said, the SM-J260 smartphone has started making its appearance on benchmarking websites, and through the specs sheet leak, we can expect the launch of the device to follow soon.
