Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro MIUI 9.5 Features: Gesture Support, Dual 4G VoLTE
The latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.5 brings new features such as gesture and Dual 4G VoLTE support to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. Users in India will also start receiving from today but in a phase-wise manner. Earlier, the Redmi Note 5 Pro was scheduled to receive the MIUI 9.5 in April, but Xiaomi revised its schedule and said that it would pack the update with a surprise and hence is taking time for its rollout.
Xiaomi’s MIUI 9.5 update is based on Android 8.1 Oreo and brings new features and optimizations onboard. It enables New Notifications Shade and Full-Screen Gestures on the phone and improves the overall stability of the device. The update weighs around 193MB in size and also packs April security patch. It also brings updated Mi Video with online content synthesis, but the Mi Music app did not receive any integration and still misses out on the Hungama Music support.

One of the most essential additions by MIUI 9.5 update is Dual 4G VoLTE option, which allows users to use 4G data from both the SIMs. Earlier, only one SIM could be enabled for the 4G usage, but now users can let both the SIMs to use 4G data and switch between them accordingly. This feature has been among the top requirements asked by the Redmi Note 5 Pro users, especially in India.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro: Flash Recovery ROM Via Updater App
The update has been released in the OTA form, but if you are a Redmi Note 5 Pro with experience in flashing recovery ROMs, then you can download it and get it on your device via updater app. To install the update, you will first have to download the recovery ROM on your phone (internal storage) and then follow the steps given below.
Tap on the menu icon and select ‘Choose update package’
Head to the folder where you have downloaded the recovery ROM
Select the correct file. After this, your device will begin flashing the ROM, and then your phone will boot for ten to fifteen minutes.
Follow the aforementioned instruction only if you have done this before. If you are an amateur then waiting for the OTA update would be the best option.
