BlackBerry Ghost to arrive in India soon with a large 4000mAh battery

In February this year, leakster Evan Blass had revealed that a premium BlackBerry Android smartphone codenamed “Ghost” will be launched in India sometime later this year. The leakster has now revealed some more details regarding the “Ghost”, suggesting the flagship smartphone could be an impressive performer in terms of battery life.

BlackBerry Ghost: 4000mAh Capacity Battery Tipped

The latest tweet from Evan Blass has revealed that the upcoming BlackBerry Ghost flagship smartphone will be equipped with a large 4000mAh capacity battery. While it may not sound too impressive when compared to some budget and mid-range devices, the Ghost will actually have a larger battery than most Android flagship smartphones. BlackBerry’s latest flagship device, the Key2, for reference, packs a 3500mAh capacity battery.

BlackBerry Ghost: Rumored Specifications

Unfortunately, almost nothing is known regarding the key specifications of the BlackBerry Ghost. The only other interesting info revealed by Blass recently is that the smartphone will come equipped with a dual-camera setup on the back with low-light enhancement and optical zoom. It will be manufactured by Optiemus Infracom, which happens to be the only manufacturer and distributor of BlackBerry devices in India. Blass had previously revealed that the Ghost will feature a full-screen design and will sport an impressively thin profile. Apart from India, the BlackBerry Ghost is expected to be sold in neighboring markets like Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

BlackBerry’s current flagship device, the Key2 sports a 4.5-inch IPS display with 1080 x 1620 Full HD+ resolution and an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. It features a 12MP + 12MP dual-camera setup on the back with 4K video recording and Dual Pixel phase detection autofocus. There is a possibility that the upcoming Ghost will be similar to the Key2 at least in some areas.

BlackBerry Ghost: Expected Price in India

The BlackBerry Ghost is likely to be priced at slightly above the Rs.40,000 mark in India. BlackBerry KeyOne was launched in India at Rs.39,990 in August last year. Since the Ghost is expected to come with several key upgrades over the KeyOne, we can expect its pricing to be slightly on the higher side.
