The monitor is called ProDesigner BM270 to clearly indicate the target market as well as the size of the display. The 27-inch IPS (In Plane Switching) panel has all the features that multimedia editing professionals require for their work.

Acer ProDesigner BM270 Monitor: Specifications

The ProDesigner BM270 monitor offers a 27-inch 4K UHD IPS panel that sports a 3840 × 2160 resolution. The monitor offers an HDR mode as well. The display lights up at a typical brightness of 400-nits. But it can go all the way up to 1000-nits in HDR mode. The BM270 monitor has 178°/178° viewing angles, and offers high contrast ratio. The monitor has 60 Hz refresh rate, which appears surprisingly low considering there are several consumer grade monitors that boast of 120 Hz and more refresh rates.

The most important feature of Acer ProDesigner BM270 monitor is undoubtedly the FLAD backlighting technology. Although FLAD is common in modern-day televisions sets, computer monitors seldom support the feature.

Being a professional monitor, the ProDesigner BM270 offers a number of connectivity options. There are two full-sized HDMI 2.0 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.2 header, and a mini DisplayPort 1.2 connector. Interestingly, there’s also a USB Type-C port to drive the integrated 4 port USB-C hub. The monitor also has in-built 4 watt speakers.
