In a major leak today, Huawei’s upcoming smartphone, the Huawei Nova 3, was leaked ahead of its official unveiling in China. This yet-to-be-announced smartphone is quite similar to that of the Honor 10, including the screen notch, the Kirin 970 processor, and dual-rear cameras. However, there’s one visible change: its larger screen and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. Let’s have a look at its first set of official images and then head to its specifications.

Huawei Nova 3: Leaked Images

As we can see in the leaked images, the Huawei Nova 3 features a bezel-less screen at the front with a notch at the top to incorporate the front-facing camera, earpiece and other sensors. There’s a small chin below the screen. At the rear, there’s a dual-camera setup with LED flash, a fingerprint reader, and the Huawei branding. The phone has a glass back and the twilight colour finish that was introduced with the Honor 10 and the Huawei P20 series.

Huawei Nova 3: Features, Specifications

Leaked images and information that the Huawei Nova 3 features a 6.3-inch bezel-less display with a notch screen and aspect ratio of 19.5:9. This is bigger than the Honor 10’s 5.84-inch screen. For some reason, it appears that the notch in this phone is wider than the notch in other Honor and Huawei phones, and there appears to be a secondary camera sensor. Whether or not it is a usual camera or a 3D depth measurement camera remains to be seen.

The phone is also seen sporting a dual-camera at the rear, set up vertically with an LED flash, and a sleek unibody metal design, with all edges curved. The 24MP front-facing camera is similar to that of the Honor 10 and the Huawei P20 Lite variant that was launched in India. Both front-facing and rear-facing cameras feature AI support for clicking images with background blur, better face beautification, and scene recognition. The phone also features Face Unlock mechanism using the front-facing camera. The rear-facing camera features HDR Pro shooting mode as well.

The phone uses Huawei’s current-generation flagship smartphone chipset, the Kirin 970 (with HiAI). The Huawei Nova 3 will come in a 6GB+128GB standard memory variant. The phone also supports Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology for better graphics. The handset is likely to run the latest Android 8.1 Oreo and come with two 4G SIM slots plus one expandable storage SD card slot. There’s a fingerprint reader on the Huawei Nova 3. It is likely to feature a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac. It can also use 4G and Wi-Fi simultaneously for faster data downloads and uploads.
