macOS High Sierra WWDC 2017

Apple has announced that it would be releasing software updates for its major operating systems across all platforms from mobile devices to laptops to smartwatches and smart speakers. The latest updates include iOS 11.4.1 for the iPhone and Ipad, tvOS 11.4.1 for Apple TV, macOS 10.13.6 for Macintosh laptops and watchOS 4.3.2 for Apple watches. Apart from this, there is a plan to release another update 11.4.1, which will be the third update for HomePod – Apple’s brand of smart speakers. These updates focus on a range of improvements including software optimization, bug fixes as well as new features that have been added to these electronic devices.

watchOS 4.3.2 Update: New Features

The watchOS 4.3.2 update, which is meant for the Apple watches, is a small one at just 47.7MB. The updates mainly focus on bug fixes and improvements to device performance. However, Apple hasn’t included any major changes or features via this update. The update is automatically downloaded onto your device for those that have selected the auto update option. Otherwise, the update can be accessed by navigating to the General > Software Updates panel on your device. It is to be noted that the device must be restarted twice for the update to be applied.

Similarly, the tvOS 11.4.1 also includes only stability improvements and general performance. The update can be applied by navigating to Settings>System>Software Updates on the Apple TV.

The changelog of the macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 update indicates that new features have been added in addition to bug fixes. These include AirPlay 2 multi-room audio support for iTunes using which users can use just the iTunes to control AirPlay 2 enabled speakers.

Another feature that has been included is an update fix that rectifies an error where the Photos App was unable to read AVCHD media for certain cameras. Apart from this the update also rectifies an issue which saw users unable to move a message from Gmail to a different account in the Mail App. The update can be downloaded manually from the App Store. Finally, the HomePod 11.4.1 update adds software improvements and stability to the device.
