OPPO A3s with Snapdragon 450 SoC Launched in India For Rs. 10,990: Specifications, Features


Chinese smartphone maker OPPO, has officially launched its latest entry-level smartphone, the OPPO A3s in India today. The launch of the device comes just days after we had exclusively reported the features, specifications, and images of the handset. The smartphone comes in only one variant with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. It sports a large 6.2-inch 19:9 display, Snapdragon 450 SoC, 13MP+2MP dual-rear-facing camera setup, 8MP selfies shooter, and more.

OPPO A3s: Pricing and Avaibility

The handset will be available in Dark Purple and Red colour options in India. It is priced at Rs. 10,990 in India and will go on sale from July 15 onwards through Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, and offline stores across the country. Given the price and specifications of the OPPO, it will compete with the likes of Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5, and Asus Zenfone Max Pro 1 in India.

OPPO A3s: Features

As mentioned above, the OPPO A3s sports a 6.2 inch IPS LCD FullView display with HD+ 1520 x 720 pixel resolution, resulting in an aspect ratio of 19:9. Powering the device is an octa-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 chipset with an Adreno 506 GPU. The smartphone packs 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, and also has a microSD card slot for further expansion. On the software front, the A3s runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based Color OS 5.1 out of the box.

In terms of imaging, the smartphone features a dual camera setup consisting of 13MP+2MP sensors. The primary 13MP camera has an f/2.2 aperture, whereas the secondary 2MP camera offers an f/2.4 aperture. There’s an 8MP front-facing camera at the front, for handling selfies and video calling. OPPO claims that the 8MP sensor uses AI Beauty Technology 2.0 mode that can recognize 296 facial features.

Connectivity-wise, the device ships with dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS USB OTG support, microUSB 2.0 port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone measures 156.2×75.6×8.2mm, weighs around 168 grams, and packs a 4230mAh battery.
