Last month, HTC launched two new Desire smartphones with 18:9 aspect ratio displays in India, the Desire 12 and Desire 12 Plus. While both models were on sale via the HTC e-store in the country so far, the smartphones are now on sale in the country via Amazon.in as well as offline retail stores.

HTC Desire 12 Plus: Price in India, Offers

The HTC Desire 12 Plus is priced at Rs.19,790 in India. However, you can now purchase the smartphone at a slightly discounted price of Rs.19,490 on Amazon.in. While the smartphone comes in Cool Black and Warm Silver colors in India, only the Cool Black variant is currently available on Amazon. As for launch offers, Amazon is offering an additional Rs.2,000 off on exchange if you purchase the Desire 12 Plus from the seller Appario India Pvt Ltd. Customers can also avail No Cost EMI on all major credit cards.

The HTC Desire 12 Plus comes with a 6-inch IPS LCD display featuring 1440 x 720 HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset clocked at 1.8 GHz with an Adreno 506 GPU. In terms of memory, the smartphone includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The Desire 12 Plus has a Hybrid Dual-SIM slot, so further expansion is possible by up to 256GB.

At the rear is a 13MP + 2MP dual-camera setup that enables the Bokeh mode feature. On the front of the handset is an 8MP snapper with an f/2.0 aperture and a Beauty mode to help enhance your selfies. Connectivity-wise, the Desire 12 Plus comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and 4G VoLTE. The smartphone packs a 2965mAh capacity battery, although fast charging isn’t supported. It does, however, include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. In terms of size, the Desire 12 Plus measures 158.2 x 76.2 x 8.4mm and weighs in at 157.5 grams. On the software front, HTC Desire 12 Plus runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with the HTC Sense overlay.

The Desire 12, which is priced at Rs.15,800 in India, can now be purchased on Amazon.in for Rs.15,490 in Cool Black and Warm Silver colors. On the Desire 12, Amazon is offering extra Rs.1,500 on exchange if you purchase the smartphone from the seller Appario India Pvt Ltd. No Cost EMI option is available as well on all major credit cards.

The HTC Desire 12 comes with a 5.5-inch sized IPS LCD display with 720 x 1440 HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It runs on a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz with a PowerVR GE8100 GPU handling the graphics. In terms of memory, the variant on sale in India includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Just like its more expensive sibling, the Desire 12 also comes with a Hybrid Dual-SIM slot configuration.

On the back of the handset is a single 13MP resolution snapper with phase-detection autofocus and an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies and video calls, the HTC Desire 12 has a 5MP camera on the front with an f/2.4 aperture and 720p HD video capture support. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and 4G VoLTE. The smartphone packs a 2730mAh capacity battery without support for fast charging. It measures 148.5 x 70.8 x 8.2 and weighs in at 137 grams. When it comes to software, the Desire 12 runs on the outdated Android Nougat operating system, which is definitely disappointing, especially given the smartphone’s price. There is no word yet on when the smartphone will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo.
