[UPDATED] Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus) Global Launch Will Reportedly Start From Taiwan; Nokia Teases

Debunking the previous reports, the Nokia X6's first global rollout will start in Taiwan, not Hong Kong.

UPDATE: The Nokia X6 has been launched in Hong Kong as Nokia 6.1 Plus. Unlike our previous report, which mentioned that it won’t launch in Hong Kong.

Standing opposed to the previous reports, HMD Global is gearing up to launch the Nokia X6 in Taiwan after China. Some of the earlier leaks suggested that the company will be launching the Nokia X6 in Hong Kong on July 19, but according to the latest information, the phone will be launched in Taiwan first.

Nokia X6: Taiwan To Get First Global Rollout

According to a Facebook post shared by the official handle of Nokia Mobile (Taiwan), the Nokia X6 is landing in Taiwan first. The ‘Nokia Mobile for Taiwan’ has posted a teaser with the Nokia X6 carrying Android One logo. The caption for the photo reads,“This time Nokia is going to take you to the tide this summer”. The launch is expected to take place on July 19, i.e. tomorrow, but it has not been confirmed yet.

Interestingly, although the post does not mention the name of the device, the comment section is brimming with the mentions of the name Nokia 6.1 Plus. Previous reports had hinted that HMD Global would be launching the Nokia X6 as the Nokia 6.1 Plus for global markets. Sadly, the social media handle did not reveal any other details about the upcoming launch. We can expect the global variant to come with similar specs as the variant in China.
