In just a few years, OnePlus has gained a wide, loyal buyer base. The flagship killer as it is called is not just a cheaper but also an affordable-yet-elegant alternative to costlier flagship phones from brands far well established. When the OnePlus 6 launched in May, it sold spectacularly well, and the reviews were cheerful. Now, there’s another reason for OnePlus fans to cheer — the OnePlus 6 has made it to the top list of mobile phones for best camera quality on the camera testing website DxOMark.

OnePlus 6: Camera Scores Higher Than iPhone 8 Plus

In their latest mobile camera review, DxoMark have given a detailed verdict on OnePlus 6, calling it the alternative flagship. The OnePlus 6 camera scored an overall 96, which places it at the 10th position in the DxOMark ranking list currently. Moreover, the score makes OnePlus 6 a better camera phone than the Apple iPhone 8, Apple iPhone 8 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy Note 8. While the Apple iPhone 8 got an average score of 92, the Apple iPhone 8 Plus as well as the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 had scored 94. The only Apple iPhone model faring better than OnePlus is the iPhone X, with a score of 97 points.

About OnePlus 6, the camera reference website has said that the device has a fast and accurate autofocus, does well when exposed to high-contrast scenes, delivers sharp and bright colours in both indoor and outdoor lighting conditions, and has a good white balance control. The photography score was 100 while the video score was 87, making for an average and resulting score of 96. Videos, bokeh effect and zoom are not its best strengths, the DxOMark concluded.

OnePlus 6: Price in India

Presently the OnePlus 6 is available in three storage models. The 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM variant is coming only in Mirror Black color at Rs 34,999 at Amazon.in. The higher storage model with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is available in Midnight Black, Silk White, Mirror Black, and Red editions, all for the same price of Rs 39,999.

The third storage variant is 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, and it is available only in Midnight Black edition, for Rs 43,999.

OnePlus 6: Specifications, Features

The OnePlus 6 packs a solid camera gear, with a 16MP front camera that can capture 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. The front camera also comes with a wide aperture of f/2.0, portrait mode, time lapse feature, autofocus and electronic image stabilization, and large 1.0μm pixel size. The rear camera with a 16MP+20MP sensor setup can take 4K videos at 30 and 60 fps. In super slow motion mode, it can take 1080p videos at 240 frames per second, and 720p videos at 480 fps. It is aided by dual LED flash and electronic plus optical image stabilization, can take pictures with a f/1.7 wide aperture, gets phase-detection autofocus, and has RAW image saving capability.

The display is 6.28 inches Optic AMOLED, with an aspect ratio of 19:9, protected by a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Among the many features of the display are night mode, Always-on, Lift-up display and adaptive and reading modes. It is a Full HD+ display with a 2280×1080 screen resolution.

The OnePlus 6 is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC, with speeds up to 2.8 GHz, and wired to 10nm semiconductors. The device runs on the OxygenOS skin, based on Android Oreo.

Connectivity wise it is NFC- and GPS-enabled gets Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and supports two 4G SIM cards.
