Earlier this month, a report had claimed that HMD Global will be launching the Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus) in India in August, alongside other Asian markets. While we cannot still be entirely sure that the smartphone is coming to India next month, the Nokia 6.1 Plus user guide page was spotted online a few hours back. Roughly two months after its debut in China, the global variant of the Nokia X6 was made official in Hong Kong last week as the Nokia 6.1 Plus.

Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus): User Guide Spotted on Nokia India Website

Unlike the user guide for the Nokia X6 uploaded on the Nokia Hong Kong page, the Nokia 6.1 Plus user guide does have the Indian SAR information as well. Under Certification Information (SAR), the user guide says “your mobile device is also designed to meet the requirements for exposure to radio waves established by the India Department of Telecommunications”.

Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus): Expected Price in India

The Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus) is expected to be priced slightly higher than the Nokia 6.1 4GB RAM variant in India, which is currently available online for just under Rs.18,000. Unless HMFD Global decides to give the Nokia 6.1 a price cut in India, the Nokia 6.1 Plus will start at somewhere around the Rs.20,000 mark in India. If the company does decide to revise the pricing of the Nokia 6.1 models, we can expect the Nokia 6.1 Plus to be priced somewhere around the same mark as the Nokia 6.1 Plus 4GB RAM variant’s current price in the country.

Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus): Specifications, Features

The Nokia X6 was launched in China in May this year and is HMD Global’s first smartphone under the X series to feature a notched display. HMD launched the second X series device in China recently, dubbed the X5. Coming to the Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus), the smartphone features a 5.8-inch IPS LCD display with a notch at the top, 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect it against scratches and damage. Under the hood, Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus) runs on an octa-core 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz with an Adreno 509 GPU. That’s the same chip that powers the Redmi Note 5 Pro. In terms of memory, the Nokia 6.1 Plus launched in Hong Kong comes in a single configuration with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. However, the Nokia X6 is available in three storage configurations in China – 4GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. For further expansion, the Nokia 6.1 Plus includes a Hybrid Dual-SIM slot.

In the camera department, Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus) features a dual-camera setup with a 16MP primary RGB sensor and a 5MP secondary monochrome sensor. The primary sensor is coupled with an f/2.0 aperture, while the secondary 5MP sensor has been paired with an f/2.2 aperture. When it comes to video, the Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus) only supports up to 1080p Full HD resolution instead of 4K on the Nokia 6.1. For selfies and video calls, the Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus) has a 16MP resolution snapper on the front, coupled with an f/2.0 aperture. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, 4G VoLTE, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone comes with both Face Unlock and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Nokia X6 (6.1 Plus) is backed by a 3060mAh capacity battery with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 standard. In terms of software, the Android One Nokia 6.1 Plus will ship with stock Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box.
