Nokia Phoenix Powered by Snapdragon 710 Processor Spotted in FIH Server Data

After being acquired by Microsoft back in 2013, the Nokia brand, which had once become one of the most popular mobile makers globally, had been sort of obsolete. The Finnish brand has, however, made a comeback to the market after a long wait, and this time around it being run by a new parent firm called HMD Global. Now, this parent firm is working on a new Nokia handset. It’s rumored to be called as the Nokia Pheonix.

Nokia Pheonix: Spotted on Foxconn Website

The alleged Nokia Pheonix was spotted by a popular tipster on Foxconn International Holdings (FIH) server data. Apparently, the current generation of the Nokia devices is being built by none other than this Chinese electronics manufacturing giant. Therefore, it’s highly likely for the smartphone to make its way to the mass market sooner than later.

The Nokia Pheonix has been making news for the last few months, however, no concrete evidence regarding the existence of the smartphone was known so far. The FIH server data posted by popular Nokia tipster Hikari Calyx on Twitter confirms the existence of the alleged product. The tipster apparently believed the alleged Nokia device listed on the FIH server to be a completely new device, later he correlated previous rumors to confirm it to be none other than the Pheonix.

Nokia Pheonix: Specifications, Features

The meta data sourced from FIH server fails to reveal any substantial details regarding the internals of the smartphone. Popular rumors make us believe that the upcoming Nokia smartphone would be a powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core chip under the hood. The Snapdragon 710 is among the latest mid-range mobile platforms from the American chipmaker. It’s a substantial upgrade over its predecessor, the Snapdragon 660 mobile platform, which went on to make its way to a large number of smartphones this year.

The all-new chip from Qualcomm promises improved battery performance. It aims to bridge the gap between Qualcomm powered mid-range and flagship devices. Therefore, we can expect the Nokia Pheonix to be an upper mid-range or a flagship offering from the Finnish brand. Moreover, the smartphone can be expected to come with a number of AI features.

The FIH listing further reveals that the alleged Nokia Pheonix possessing the codename PNX will run on Android Oreo 8.1. We can expect the smartphone to come with support for Android One, considering all recent Nokia offerings come with the same. Recently, HMD Global announced the global version of the Nokia X6 as the Nokia 6.1 Plus in Hong Kong. That aside, the Finnish multinational brand also debuted its Nokia 3.1 smartphone in India last week. Incidentally, both these smartphones came with Android One on board. Apart from that, the Nokia Pheonix is said to come with a 18:9 display, 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. The news regarding the upcoming smartphone was first leaked by popular tipster Roland Quandt, but he too failed to reveal much about the device

Nokia Pheonix: Price, Launch Date

The Nokia Pheonix is expected to make it debut sometimes later this year. HMD Global may opt for a late autumn or a winter time frame for bringing this product to the mass market. Some reports claims that the alleged Nokia Pheonix may be none other than the Nokia 7.1 Plus. Whereas others believe it to be the upcoming Nokia X7. It’s still early days to confirm either of the reports, however, we expect to get more information regarding the alleged smartphone in the coming days. Moreover, nothing is known regarding the price of the smartphone yet.
