The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 starts at Rs.10,999 in India for the base variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It also comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage at Rs.12,999. There is a 6GB/64GB variant available too. This variant of the ZenFone Max Pro M1 carries an MRP of Rs.14,999. All three versions include a dedicated microSD card slot for further expansion up to 2TB. Flipkart holds a falsh sale of the smartphone.

The Nokia X5 has been launched only in China yet, where HMD Global is asking CNY 999 yuan (Rs.10,000 approx.) for the 3GB/32GB variant, and CNY 1,399 (Rs.14,000 approx.) for the 4GB/64GB variant. The memory can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

The Moto E5 Plus is only available in a single variant packing 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, which is further expandable by up to 128GB thanks to a dedicated microSD card slot. The smartphone is an Amazon-exclusive in India, and carries a sticker price of Rs.11,999.

The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 also flaunts a decent display, sporting a Full HD+ 5.99-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1080x2160an 18:9 aspect ratio. Qualcomm’s 14nm Snapdragon 636 mobile processor clocked at 1.8 GHz with an Adreno 509 GPU powers the device. The smartphone offers a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and supports Face Unlock.

The Nokia X5 features a 5.86-inch display with HD+ 720×1520 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. A MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.0 GHz with a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU powers the device. The smartphone packs a rear fingerprint scanner, but also uses the front camera for Face Unlock feature.

Moto E5 Plus features a large 6-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz paired with an Adreno 505 GPU powers the device. The device packs a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 captures images with its 13MP+5MP dual rear cameras and 8MP front camera while also providing support for 4K video recording. The camera also offers a portrait or bokeh mode. Interestingly, on the front of the 6GB variant is a 16MP snapper with an f/2.2 aperture and a soft LED flash. Face Unlock is supported as well for easy unlocking.

The Nokia X5 sports a 13MP+5MP dual-camera setup with phase-detection autofocus. It also offer AI portrait mode with background blur effects. For selfies, the Nokia X5 has an 8MP snapper on the front with AI-powered Beauty mode feature and Face Unlock support.

The Moto E5 Plus comes with a single 12MP rear camera that boasts of 1.25um pixel size, laser + PDAF autofocus. It can capture videos at up to 1080p Full HD resolution. For selfies, the Motorola handset has a 5MP snapper on the front.

The Nokia X5 packs a 3060mAh capacity battery. There’s no support for fast charging. The smartphone ships with the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. Nokia has assured the X5 will receive the Android P update.

Motorola’s Moto E5 Plus matches Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 with a large 5000mAh capacity battery that supports 10W or 15W fast charging as well. The smartphone ships with Android Oreo 8.0, but should be soon upgraded to Android P.

All the three budget smartphones pack a lot of interesting features for the asking price. However, Asus offers several variants. Incidentally, of the three, the Asus smartphone packs the most capable chipset. Although Motorola’s, Moto E5 Plus matches Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 with a large capacity battery, it lacks the camera capacity. Incidentally, from the three, Nokia appears to lag behind in a few key aspects.
