
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab S4 has been showing up on the rumour mill for quite some time. Previously, the live images of the yet-to-be-launched phone have been leaked, followed up some other leaks. Now, in the latest report, folks at AndroidHeadlines have revealed the launch date of the Galaxy Tab S4, based on a tip that they received from an anonymous source who has an internal connection at Samsung.
Samsung To Announce Galaxy Tab S4 on August 1
According to the report, the South Korean giant is announcing the Galaxy Tab S4 on August 1, 2018. The company has scheduled a high-profile exclusive launch event to bring out the device. Earlier, some reports hinted that Samsung may bring out at the Tab S4 at the Galaxy Note 9 launch event, but now it seems that the company would launch it at an exclusive event as the ‘Unpacked’ event is already stacked with other products on the side, such as the Galaxy Watch and accessories.
Moreover, TechRadar recently reported that the launch event for the Galaxy Tab S4 is also a sneak-peek event for the Galaxy Note 9 that is expected to launch at the ‘Unpacked’ event, later.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S4: Rumoured Specifications, Features
As we mentioned earlier, specifications and features of the Galaxy Tab S4 have already surfaced on the internet in the form of leaks and renders. Going by all the previous reports, the Galaxy Tab S4 is expected to come with a 10.5-inch display bearing a 16:10 aspect ratio and 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution. The upcoming Tab S4 will sport more screen real estate and lesser bezels, giving it a thinner outlook than the previous models.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S4 is rumoured to come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the software side, it will most likely run Android 8.1 Oreo-based Samsung Experience UI. For optics, it will sport a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie snapper at the front. A 7300mAh battery will back the device. Connectivity and other options will include Bluetooth 5.0, an iris scanner, support for Samsung DeX.
It turns out the the Galaxy Tab S4 may ditch the fingerprint sneosr, which could have been done to attain the new design that is slimmer and thinner than the previous models. Besides, Samsung might also do away with the fingerprint sensor on the upcoming Note 9 smartphone, which makes it all the more believable that company may ditch it on the Tab S4 too.
