Huawei and ASUS are two of the most popular smartphone brands you will find in India. Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor is also doing very well in the region and today, we will be comparing three devices belonging to each brand. All phones are high-end but cost less than the price you see stamped on regular flagship smartphones. These devices are the Honor Note 10, the ASUS Zenfone 5Z (review) and the Huawei Nova 3.
Honor Note 10 vs ASUS Zenofone 5Z vs Huawei Nova 3: Price in India
With the Honor Note 10 launched just today, we don’t have the exact pricing details for you, though it is expected that the starting price of the phone is Rs. 28103. The ASUS Zenfone 5Z costs Rs. 29999 for the base model and goes up to Rs. 36999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The Huawei Nova 3 is only available in a single variant and its price in India is Rs. 34999. In terms of design, all three devices come with a premium finish at the front and back, though none of them provides support for wireless charging, unfortunately.
Honor Note 10 vs ASUS Zenofone 5Z vs Huawei Nova 3: Design and Display
Honor Note 10 has a gigantic a 6.95-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2220 x 1080 and it can be assumed that this version is a larger variant of the Honor 10 (review). The Huawei Nova 3 has a smaller 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 while the ASUS Zenfone 5Z has a 6.2-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 2246 x 1080. If you feel that you can easily carry around the Honor Note 10 in your pocket, then you should buy it when it launches in India as you will get several benefits of owning a large-screen smartphone. While the remaining phones are also big enough for a lot of buyers, the Honor Note 10 takes the crown here.
Honor Note 10 vs ASUS Zenofone 5Z vs Huawei Nova 3: Performance and Specifications
Honor Note 10 packs a HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset which is paired with either 6GB or 8GB RAM. The base model of this phone touts 64GB of internal memory and it can go up to 128GB if you add a little more money. The Huawei Nova 3 comes with the same HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC, with the smartphone sporting 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Since the Snapdragon 845 is faster than the Kirin 970 in a lot of tasks, the ASUS Zenfone 5Z is going to be your weapon of choice if you want the best ‘all-round’ performance from an Android flagship that goes easy on your wallet. The device can feature 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM, depending on your preference, along with 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB depending on which variant you buy.
All smartphones can expand their existing storage via a microSD card.
Honor Note 10 vs ASUS Zenofone 5Z vs Huawei Nova 3: Camera Features
When it comes to the camera, the Honor Note 10 ships with a dual 16 + 24MP rear camera along with the 13MP front shooter. The Huawei high-end phone under discussion, the Nova 3 sports a quad-camera configuration with a dual 16 + 24MP rear and a dual 24 + 2MP selfie shooter at the front. The ASUS Zenfone 5Z packs a dual 12 + 8MP rear and an 8MP front camera. In terms of capturing the best images possible, we’d say go for the Nova 3 since it will provide you with more options thanks to that quad-camera setup.
Honor Note 10 vs ASUS Zenofone 5Z vs Huawei Nova 3: Battery and OS
The ASUS Zenfone 5Z has the smallest battery out of all the three smartphones compared here. The device packs a non-removable 3300mAh unit, with a larger 3750mAh capacity featured in the Huawei Nova 3. However, if you want a smartphone that will keep the lights on for the longest period of time, this is a ‘no-brainer’ situation because the Honor Note 10 wins this competition hands-down with its 5000mAh battery. As far as the software front is concerned, both the Nova 3 and the Honor Note 10 run Android 8.1 Oreo, with EMUI running on top while the ASUS Zenfone 5Z is running Android 8.0 Oreo with the ZenUI 5.0 skin running on top.
Honor Note 10 vs ASUS Zenofone 5Z vs Huawei Nova 3: Conclusion
Our preference lies with the Honor Note 10 thanks to its massive battery size, humongous display and a premium design. The remaining two phones feature those things too, but the Honor Note 10 takes the competition to another level. If you want to settle for something else, we’d recommend buying the ASUS Zenfone 5Z if the Honor Note 10 does not launch in India.
