In late June, Motorola added Vodafone VoLTE support for its budget Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play smartphones in India. The company has now rolled out Vodafone VoLTE support for its Moto E series smartphones – Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus.
Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus: Both Smartphones Now Support Vodafone VoLTE
Now that Motorola has rolled out Vodafone VoLTE support for the Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus smartphones, users can now make 4G VoLTE calls on the Vodafone network. With VoLTE, you can enjoy HD quality voice calls and continue using 4G data even while you are on a call. Vodafone currently offers its 4G VoLTE services in 13 circles across India – Chennai, Delhi & NCR, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, Maharashtra & Goa, Mumbai, Punjab, Rajasthan, UP (East), and UP (West).
Moto E5: Specifications, Features
The Moto E5 comes with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD Max Vision display featuring 720 x 1440 HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, Moto E5 runs on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz with an Adreno 308 GPU. In the memory department, Moto E5 features 2GB of RAM and includes 16GB of onboard memory. For further expansion up to 128GB, the handset comes with a dedicated microSD card slot.
In terms of optics, the Moto E5 features a 13MP primary camera on the back with phase-detection autofocus and 1.12um pixel size. Motorola has paired the 13MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens and an LED flash. For selfies and video calls, Moto E5 gets a 5MP snapper on the front with an LED flash. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and 4G VoLTE. Keeping the lights on is a large 4000mAh capacity battery with support for fast charging. Moto E5 also includes a fingerprint sensor embedded within the Motorola batwing logo on the back. On the software front, Moto E5 runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box.
Moto E5 Plus: Specifications, Features
The Moto E5 Plus features a bigger 6.0-inch Max Vision IPS LCD display featuring 720 x 1440 HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio, protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top. Under the hood, Moto E5 Plus sold in India is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz with an Adreno 505 GPU. Motorola has paired the octa-core chip on the Moto E5 Plus with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Just like the Moto E5, the “Plus” variant also includes a dedicated microSD card slot for further expansion. At the rear is a 12MP primary snapper with 1.25um pixel size, PDAF + laser autofocus and Full HD video capture. For selfies, the Moto E5 Plus is equipped with a 5MP unit on the front.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and 4G VoLTE. Perhaps the main USP of the Moto E5 Plus is the massive 5000mAh non-removable battery that offers fast charging support as well. Some of the other key features of the Moto E5 Plus include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, front-ported speaker, and dual microphones. When it comes to software, the Moto E5 Plus runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system currently with minimal Motorola customizations added on top.
