The 72nd Independence Day is coming, and Indian e-commerce platforms have geared up to make the best of the occasion. Flipkart and Amazon.in, as part of their celebrations for India’s freedom, are offering great deals on a horde of products, with the prices of gadgets set to plummet up to 80 per cent in the sale days. Amazon, Flipkart: Freedom Sale Date

India’s top two e-commerce websites are both calling their sale the Freedom Sale, with Flipkart adding ‘Big’ in the name. The Amazon Freedom Sale will be held for four days, from August 9 to August 12, and will see more than 2,000 deals in about 200 categories. The Flipkart Big Freedom Sale will be held on August 10, 11, and 12, with one new deal every hour and serious price drops for limited hours, plus up to 80 per cent off on some consumer technology products such as laptops and accessories.

Amazon Freedom Sale: All Offers, Deals

According to Amazon’s offer listings page, there will be up to 40 per cent off on the prices of smartphones during the sale, with more than 50 different offers on about 25 brands. More than 30 of these offers or smartphones under offers will be exclusive to Amazon.in, and there will be four new launches in mobiles and accessories from brands such as OnePlus, Xiaomi, Honor, Vivo and Motorola.

In terms of gadgets, you get to choose from more than 350 brands, and the total number of offers exceed 2,000. No Cost EMIs and exchange offers will be made available on products from top consumer tech brands such as Lenovo, JBL, Canon and Sennheiser.

There will be great savings on home products also, with kitchen and home appliances from Prestige, USHA, Bosch, and Honeywell going for up to 70 per cent off.

On products in the personal care and beauty as also daily essentials categories, you will be able to save up to 50 per cent, from more than a hundred brands such as Philips, Ariel and Lakme.

More than 500 fashion brands including big names such as Puma, Red Tape and Casio will participate in the Amazon Freedom Sale, with a minimum saving of 50 per cent and a maximum of 80 per cent off. Of these, more than 30 brands are exclusively selling on Amazon.

On electronics such as air conditioners and television sets, you can save up to 40 per cent on products from more than 35 brands, with No Cost EMIs starting as low as Rs 799 per month. Haier, Sony, and LG are among the many brands participating.

On books and entertainment products, there will be up to 60 per cent off, with brands such as Westland and Yonex coming in.

Amazon will give out exclusive deals to Prime members and for those using Amazon Pay wallet, as well as those using the Amazon app for the sale. The website suggests you should download the app, register for the Amazon Pay wallet, sign up for Prime membership, and create a wishlist of products to get notified on the latest deals related to them.

Flipkart Big Freedom Sale: All Offers, Deals

The Flipkart Big Freedom Sale starts a day later than the freedom sale by Amazon, and offers its own attractions. On all the three days from August 10, there will be heavy price drops for 31 minutes from 7:47 pm, and a new deal every hour. There will also be new price cuts every 8 hours across all of the 72 hours of the sale.

For Citi Bank credit card users, there will be 10 per cent cashback on all purchases. There will be up to 70 per cent off on products from top brands such as Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, and others, and up to 80 per cent off on laptops. Fashion brands will have discounts ranging from 40 per cent to 80 per cent, and the same applies to top brands selling home essentials, such as Prestige, HomeTown and BombayDyeing.

Flipkart also has something called The India Store, where you will get products from Indian brands only, with discounts as good as flat 50 per cent off. Flipkart also suggests that you update your delivery address, create a wishlist and register payment details on the website and app so as to make the best of the sale.
