Xiaomi Mi 8 to Soon Launch in Spain with 6GB RAM, 64GB Storage

The latest leak reveals that Xiaomi is prepping to launch the Mi 8 smartphone in Spain soon. It will be bringing the 6GB RAM+64GB storage to the region in Black and White colour options. It’s worth noting that Xiaomi launched three variants for the Mi 8 in China – 6GB RAM+64GB storage, 6GB RAM+128GB storage, and 6GB RAM+256GB storage, in White, Gold, Light Blue, and Black colour options. The company also launched the Mi 8 Explorer Edition, which is a premium variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage.

Xiaomi Mi 8: Specifications, Features

The Xiaomi Mi 8 comes with a 6.21-inch full-HD+ AMOLED notched display at 1080×2248 pixels resolution and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC paired with 6GB/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, wherein the 8GB RAM is limited to the Explorer Edition. The Mi 8 features 12MP+12MP dual camera setup at the rear with dual pixel autofocus, 4-axis Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), and AI-assisted features such as AI scene detection, AI portraits, and video detection.

There is a 20MP selfie snapper at the front with AI portrait selfies, and beautify features. The Mi 8 gets 64GB/128GB/256GB storage options. It supports connectivity options such as Dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (dual-band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), dual-band GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and Bluetooth 5.0. A 3000mAh backs the device with support for Quick Charge 4.0+, but do not include a compatible charger for the technology. The 18W charger bundled with the Mi 8 supports Quick Charge 3.0 charge, which means you will have to get a third-party charger to utilise Quick Charge 4.0+ support. The Mi 8 measures 154.9×74.8×7.6mm and weighs 175 grams.

Xiaomi Mi 8: Pricing

Concerning pricing, Xiaomi launched the Mi 8 at a starting price of CNY 2,699 (approx. Rs. 28,600) for the6GB RAM+64GB storage variant, CNY 2,999 (approx. Rs. 31,600) for the 6GB RAM+128GB storage model, and CNY 3,299 (approx. Rs. 34,800) for the 6GB RAM+256GB storage variant. The Mi 8 Explorer Edition with 8GB RAM+128GB storage is priced at CNY 3,699 (approx. Rs. 39,000).

We wonder if Xiaomi will be launching the Mi 8 standard variant around the same pricing in Spain as it did in China. Besides, the company is yet to reveal when it will be bringing the latest flagship to India. When it does, we are sure that the Mi 8 would prove to be a strong competitor for the OnePlus 6 and the Asus Zenfone 5Z.
