Reliance Jio GigaFiber Broadband registrations are all set to start from August 15. The much-anticipated Jio GigaFiber service was launched by Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani when he addressed the shareholders at the 41st Annual General Meeting.
The much-touted Internet service will be available in 1,100 cities initially and it will then expand to other cities in the near future. Jio GigaFiber will come loaded with a GigaFiber router and a Jio GigaTV set-top box as well. And the Jio GigaTV set-top box will also the customers to make video calls to other corresponding mobiles or GigaTV devices in India.
How to Register:
Registrations for the Jio GigaFiber service will start on 15th August. Customers can log in to the Jio website to register online or they can also register through the MyJio app.
It ought to be mentioned that there is no registration fee for the Jio GigaFiber connection.
“We will extend fiber connectivity to homes, merchants, small and medium enterprises and large enterprises simultaneously across 1,100 cities to offer the most advanced fiber-based broadband connectivity solutions,” according to Mukesh Ambani.
“Jio GigaFiber will provide ultra high-definition entertainment on large screen TVs, multi-party video conferencing from a living room, voice-activated virtual assistance, virtual reality gaming, digital shopping and immersive experiences,” added Mukesh Ambani.
JioPhone 2: Features and Specs
At the annual general meeting, Ambani also launched JioPhone 2. JioPhone 1 has now paved way for its successor variant – JioPhone 2. This time, the Reliance Jio-owned 4G feature phone is sporting an alphanumeric QWERTY keyboard. It is noteworthy that this phone is run through KaiOS, and it is supporting 22 Indian regional languages. The device flaunts a 2.4-inch display along with a VGA front camera. The device accommodates 4GB internal storage. However, the storage can be extended through an external microSD card that can room up to 128GB. There is an added feature of a panic button, which sends a message to the already chosen contacts at the time of threat.
Furthermore, the camera of the device features a 2MP sensor rear or primary camera and a 0.3MP sensor front or selfie camera. Near the primary camera, there is a provision for the flashlight, which can be used as a flashlight for photography, as well. The device supports dual SIM cards. The connectivity features of the device constitute Bluetooth, VoLTE with 4G, NFC, and Wi-Fi. The phone is powered through a 2000 mAh battery that promises to offer 14 hours talk time after the battery is fully charged.
This phone is expected to cost around Rs 2,999, which is reasonable and highly economical for the features it offers. The device is going to be launched on 15th August of 2018.
Like all other launches, Mukesh Ambani has great plans for JioPhone as well. In this regard, he said that, “The goal that I have now is to enable 100 million users on this JioPhone platform in the shortest possible time and create another world record.”
Since its entry into the telecom domain, Reliance Jio has managed to shake up the whole industry in no time.
