Xiaomi Mi A2: Specifications, Features
Interestingly, the Xiaomi Mi A2 shares a lot of similarities with another Xiaomi sub-brand’s smartphone: the Remi Note 5 Pro. The devices sport a 5.99-inch Full-screen IPS LCD display with 1080×2160 Full HD+ resolution, and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Also, Xiaomi notes the display panel has 1500:1 contrast ratio. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the screen.
The Mi A2 packs a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core mid-range chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz. The SoC works with Adreno 512 GPU. Xiaomi may launch only one memory configuration of the smartphone in the Indian market comprising of 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Strangely, the Mi A2 lacks a micro-SD card slot. Hence buyers will have to manage within 64GB without the possibility of expanding the storage.
The Android One smartphone from Xiaomi features a 12MP + 20MP dual-camera setup on the back. The camera offers AI-powered Portrait Mode and 4K video capture at 30 fps. On the front of the device is a 20MP snapper with AI-powered Beautify 4.0, HDR, and Portrait Mode features.
The smartphone packs a rather humble 3,010mAh capacity non-removable battery, but it does support Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. The Mi A2 also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity-wise, the Mi A2 offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, USB Type-C port, 4G VoLTE, and an IR blaster. In terms of software, the Mi A2 runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. Being an Android One smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi A2 should receive regular security updates, and also get two major OS upgrades.
Xiaomi Mi A2: Price in India, Availability Details
According to the Mi A2 listing on the Amazon app, the Xiaomi Mi A2 costs Rs.17,499 for the 4GB/64GB variant. Internationally there are two additional variants, the 3GB/32GB and the 6GB/128GB, which may not be available in India. Buyers will also be able to purchase the Android One smartphone from Mi.com.
