Jio Phone 2: How to buy the Handset?

In order to get a Jio Phone 2, open the MyJio App or visit and look for the registrations for the device, once they are open. Now tap on the ‘Get Now’ option and enter your details along with the shipping address and all the requisites. Once you are done with all the details, pay an amount of Rs. 2,999 through net banking or debit/credit cards. When the transaction is completed, the device will be delivered at your shipping address following a standard delivery procedure.

Jio Phone 2: Features, Specifications

The upcoming JioPhone 2 features a QWERTY keypad with a 4-way navigation key, similar to older BlackBerry handsets. For visuals, the device sports a 2.4-inch sized display with QVGA resolution. There are no details on the hardware configuration of the device. To recall, the predecessor of the Jio Phone 2 is loaded with a Spreadtrum 9820 dual-core SoC, clocked at up to 1.2 GHz. The Jio Phone 2 packs 512MB of RAM and comes with 4GB of onboard storage. The internal storage on the device can be further expanded using a microSD card. On the software front, the new Jio Phone 2 ships with the KaiOS and supports popular apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, and YouTube. The Jio Phone users will be able to download these apps from the KaiOS store. Moving on to the optics, the Jio Phone 2 houses a 2MP image snapper at the back and a VGA front-facing camera. The fuel powering the device comes from a 2,000mAh battery which can support talk time up to 14 hours, the company claims. The connectivity options that come along with the device include Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, FM radio, VoLTE, and VoWiFi. The feature phone also comes with support for LTE Cat 4 with maximum download speeds of 150 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps. The device is priced at Rs. 2,999 and comes in Black.

Monsoon Hungama Offer from Jio

As a part of introducing the second iteration of its feature phone, Jio has announced the ‘Monsoon Hungama Offer’ for its first feature phone, the Jio Phone. Under the offer, you can get the Jio Phone at an effective price of Rs. 501. You will need to exchange your old feature phone of any brand along with a security deposit of Rs. 501 for a brand new Jio Phone. The security deposit of Rs. 501 is 100% refundable and you will receive this amount at the end of three years. Also, note that the old phone you are exchanging must be in working condition and is returned with its charger. And, the old phone must be handed over to the retailer at the time of the purchase of the new Jio Phone. Additionally, you will also get a new Jio SIM on the along with the Jio Phone. However, you will need to buy a Reliance Jio prepaid recharge plans worth Rs. 594 if you have got your phone under the Jio Monsoon Hungama Offer. The prepaid recharge plan of Rs. 594 offers unlimited voice and data benefits for a validity period of six months.

The Jio Phone 2 was first announced at the company’s 41st RIL Annual General Meeting in Mumbai and goes on sale on August 15.
