Looks like the Motorola P30 is ready for launch, and there is a major Motorola event in China tomorrow, so we expect some sparks there. Leaked images of the new smartphone by Motorola reveal some exciting specs, and at least one website has already listed it for pre-orders.

Motorola P30: Leaked Specifications

The Motorola P30 is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset and comes with two storage options: 64GB and 128GB. The RAM, however, is the same for both storage models, a standard 6GB. Motorola seems to take pride in the handset’s camera gear, with several images boasting about its AI functions such as beautification, gender recognition and gender-based touch-ups, and portrait effect in both the front and rear camera.

The rear dual-camera setup consists of a 16MP+5MP unit with larger pixels and the front camera also uses larger, 1.25-micrometre pixels as well as a soft toning light for natural-looking images. The front camera has a single sensor but takes portrait shots with bokeh effect thanks to artificial intelligence support.

Gaming wise, too, the phone can flex some muscle, with augmented reality claimed to bring your favourite characters to life on the screen, and a no-disturbance mode where the gaming app will automatically block calls and keep away notifications so you can play on undisturbed.

The design of the handset follows the new, 2018 style notched display and gradient colour, just like the Honor 10 and the Huawei P20 Pro, with a 2.5D curved glass unibody with metal that is processed to take heating and keep the phone temperature in check even after heavy use. The battery is a 3,000 mAh unit but comes with 15W and 18W fast charging support, and several AI functions that will keep the battery going for a whole day of mixed use.

Motorola says the handset comes with AI optimization for battery life enhancement, including adaptive learning, where the phone learns usage behaviour based on your use of applications and alters the battery used by each app to ensure that the apps you don’t frequently use take no more than just a bit of the battery power.

Other thrills include Dolby 360 surround sound, U-touch and split-screen functions for smart use, and a transparent back edition to follow, as can be seen in one of the leaked images. Motorola, however, hasn’t said anything about this. The handset, for now, seems to be coming in Ice Jade White, Aurora, and Bright Black colours, with Aurora being the gradient colour.

Motorola P30: Price in India

The Motorola P30 is about to launch in China, and we are keenly watching to see if the company will announce the product at the China event tomorrow. For now, we spotted a listing of the phone at a Chinese website, where the 6GB RAM plus 64GB ROM option was available for pre-orders at 1,999 Chinese Yuan. That would be a bit more than Rs. 20,000 in India, but we shall have to wait a while for the India release.

Motorola P30: Leaked Images

The images we found are many, and most of them carry Chinese text that shows that Motorola is quite happy with the device. In many of the images, you will see that the camera and gaming features of the phone are promoted, so it seems that the USP of the phone lies somewhere there. Take a look for yourself.
