Mi Pad 4 Plus: Specifications, Features
Like the Mi Pad 4, the Mi Pad 4 Plus comes with a full-metal body, giving it a premium touch and feel. It features a 10.1-inch IPS LCD display with 1920 x 1200 WUXGA Full HD resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The panel is claimed to offer 1000:1 contrast ratio and has a pixel density of 224 PPI. When it comes to performance, the “Plus” model does not offer any significant upgrade over the standard model. Both the tablets are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz with an Adreno 512 GPU clocked at 650 MHz. In terms of memory, the Mi Pad 4 Plus is available in two configurations – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. Further expansion, however, is not supported.
In the camera department, Xiaomi’s latest Android tablet is identical to the Mi Pad 4. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with HDR and Beauty modes, along with an f/2.0 aperture. At the front of the device is a 5MP snapper with AI face unlock, HDR, Beauty mode, and an f/2.0 aperture. If you are not too sure about using Face Unlock as a biometric authentication method, you can use the fingerprint sensor embedded inside the home button below the display. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C, and 4G LTE.
While the Mi Pad 4 Plus does not offer any improvements over the Mi Pad 4 in the camera and connectivity departments, Xiaomi has equipped the tablet with a larger battery. It packs an 8620mAh capacity battery, which Xiaomi claims is capable of delivering up to 16 hours of video playback. In terms of size, the Mi Pad 4 Plus measures 245.6 x 149.08 x 7.99mm and weighs in at 485 grams. For reference, the Mi Pad 4 measures 200.2 x 120.3 x 7.9mm and weighs 342.5 grams. On the software front, the tablet runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9 out of the box. We expect the Mi Pad 4 Plus to be updated to MIUI 10 by early October.
Mi Pad 4 Plus: Expected Price in India
Xiaomi is yet to launch the Mi Pad 4 in India, which made its debut in China in June this year. While we do not have high hopes of the Mi Pad 4 Plus launching in India, we expect it to be priced around Rs.18,000 in case Xiaomi does decide to bring it here.
