Huawei has had a great run this year. With subsequent launches of its flagships Huawei P20 and P20, along with an array of budget to mid-range smartphones, Huawei has gone on to become the second largest smartphone marker in the world. Now, it is preparing to consolidate its market presence even further with the impending launch of its all Mate 20 series of flagship phablet.
Recently, an image of the front glass panel of the Huawei Mate 20 has leaked by an alleged factory worker. The leak comes soon after press renders of the Huawei Mate 20 Lite went live on the web. Apart from these, a couple of other renders regarding the alleged Mate 20 line of smartphones were leaked earlier this week. The tipsters from around the globe have been speculating over the Mate 20 trio for the past couple of weeks.

Huawei Mate 20: Front Panel Leaked
The recent leak coming from China reveal the front design of the Huawei Mate 20. The front glass of the smartphone is seen boasting of a large rectangular notch, that will presumably house the 3D face recognition sensor. Besides, that the notch will also feature the standard earpiece, front camera and a few other essential sensors, including proximity, ambient light, gyroscope and a few others. Another interesting revelation is the presence of an in-display fingerprint sensor. The leaked image of the Huawei Mate 20’ front glass all but confirms the presence of the modern security feature. So, far Huawei hasn’t released any smartphone with this technology with Oppo and Vivo being the front-runner in this aspect.
The glass front of the Huawei Mate 20 is also seen sporting minimal bezels on all its sides. There isn’t any significant bezel on the chin of the smartphone either. This is pretty impressive considering most modern phone nowadays, that stack up all the bezels on chin itself which is also seen in the current generation Huawei phones, including the P20 and P20 Pro. The Huawei Mate 20, on the other hand, is seen touting a true-bezel less design, something similar to the one seen in the Oppo Find X and Vivo NEX S. Moreover, the display also boasts of curved edges. The implementation is similar to that of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 smartphones.
Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro: Specifications, Features
The Huawei Mate 20 and the Mate 20 pro are rumoured to be powered by a 7nm Kirin 980 processor. This is Huawei’s latest and great in-house chip and will debut with the new flagship. It is said to come with four Cortex A77 cores coupled with four other low power Cortex A55 cores. The Kirin 980 will also get a 24 core Mali G72 MP24 GPU and a second generation Neural Processing Unit (NPU). A recent report also suggests that the chip will come with faster image processing and an all-new LTE modem.
Apart from these, the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are reported to sport a triple camera setup. The implementation is expected to be similar to one seen in the Huawei P20 Pro. Tipsters claim that the top end Huawei Mate 20 Pro will boast a triple rear camera setup comprising of 40MP, 2, MP and 8MP sensors. At the same time, the Huawei Mate 20 will feature a similar setup with slightly different sensors. Unlike the Mate 20 Pro, it will come with 12MP, 16MP, and 8MP sensors. Additionally, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is rumored to come with a 4000mAh battery.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite: Leaked Color Variants
Just a few hours after glass panel of the Mate 20 series went live on Weibo, popular tipster Evan Blass tweeted a press render of the Huawei Mate 20 smartphone that reveals the alleged smartphone in its full glory. The render reveals that the all-new Huawei Mate 20 Lite will sport a glass fused to metal construction, and will come in three color hues, namely Black, Gold, and Blue.
A recent TENAA listing of the Huawei Mate 20 Lite confirms the presence of a 6.3 inch Full HD (2,340 x 1,080p) display and Kirin 710 octa-core processor. It will also come with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Furthermore, it will boast a 3,650mAh battery, and dual rear camera setup comprising of a 20MP primary and 2MP secondary sensor. Besides, the front of the smartphone will also a dual camera setup. The unit will comprise a 24MP and 2MP sensors. Last but not the least, the TENAA listing reveals that the alleged smartphone will run on Android Ore 8.1.
Huawei Mate 20 Series: Launch Date, Price
Huawei plans to launch its Mate 20 series of flagship phablet in October or November this year. Generally, the smartphone would be launched in China, and afterwards the Chinese OEM will be bringing to its other international markets by the end of this year. Information regarding the price of any of the three smartphones aren’t reported yet.
