Sony Xperia XA3 with Snapdragon 660 Appears on Geekbench Ahead of Launch

Sony Xperia XA3 has been spotted on Geekbench. The upcoming phone may pack 6GB of RAM and SD660 SoC.

Xperia XA2

Sony unveiled the Xperia XA2 processor back in January this year, and now the company seems to be working on its successor, the Xperia XA3. Earlier, the phone was spotted in a Eurasian listing, and now it has debuted on Geekbench.

Sony Xperia XA3 Spotted With Snapdragon 660 SoC

Going by the Geekbench listing, the Sony Xperia XA3 is powered by Snapdragon 660 processor. The phone will run Android 8.0 Oreo and pack 6GB of RAM. The listing carries the model number H4493, which is different from the previous Eurasian listing that mentioned the model number as H4413. With an SD660 SoC, the Xperia XA3 seems to be an upcoming mid-range smartphone.

Although the Snapdragon 660 is a capable processor, but it’s no longer the latest-generation mid-range chipset, thanks to its successor, the Snapdragon 670. The SD660 features four big cores under Kryo 260 Performance (Arm Cortex-A73) clocked at 2.2GHz, coupled with four Kryo 260 Efficiency (Cortex-A53) cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The SoC packs  Adreno 512 GPU.

For now, Sony has not confirmed the existence of the Xperia XA3, but now that it has paid a visit to two certifications, there are all the more reasons to expect its arrival.

Sony Xperia XA3: Previous Listings, Expected Specs

According to the previous Eurasian listing, the Xperia XA3 carried the model number H4413. Based on the history, the Xperia XA1 carried the model number ‘G3121’, and the Xperia XA2 came with the model number ‘H3133’ that suggested that the new device with model number H4413 could be none other than the rightful successor to both the phones, i.e. the Xperia XA3.

Based on the Xperia XA2, we can expect the Xperia XA3 to feature an edge-to-edge Full HD+ (2160 x 1080) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone might also get updated to Android 9.0 Pie after its release.

Sony is holding IFA on August 30th this year, and the appearance of the alleged Xperia XA3 hints that we may see it getting unveiled at the event. Typically Xperia XZ phones carry the model number H6xxx, and the mid-ranger XA is named H4xxx.

Sony Xperia A2: Specifications, Features

The Xperia XA2 smartphone features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC. The phone packs 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card). It sports a 23MP rear camera with 1/2.3-inch size and has 84-degree, and f/2.0 wide-angle lens. There is an 8MP selfie snapper on the front with 1/4-inch Exmor R and f/2.4 wide-angle lens.

The phone includes connectivity options such as dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and FM radio. A 33000 mAh battery backs the device with Qnovo Adaptive Charging and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technologies in addition to Sony’s in-house Smart Stamina mode, which enhances the battery backup. The Xperia XA2 measures 142x70x9.7mm and weighs 171 grams. It debuted in Silver, Blue, Black, and Pink colour options.

Now that Sony is expected to bring out the Xperia XA3, we are quite sure that it will hold substantial advancements over its predecessor. As the Geekbench listing revealed, the phone will feature Snapdragon 660 SoC and 6GB of RAM.
